      Bluefish:
Hi Bigeyedfish, which school are you targeting at?

Hi Bluefish, looking at BPPS but just got a negative review from my colleague who sent her son there. Now trying to get reviews about St Anthony's because of its affiliation to SJI. Finally SVPS. Either way need to do PV for any of the schools because all are more than 2km away.

            Hi Bigeyedfish,

Please PM me as well. Recently, my sister-in-law submitted the PV application at BPPS. Thanks.

              Hi Bigeyedfish,

Can you also pm me for the negative feedback on BPPS? I have a friend who is keen on that school, so can pass it to her.

                  Hi everyone,

Didn't know many would be interested. I think it's no secret so I'll just post it here. Not sure if it's in the school's culture or that just some teachers are bochap. But as a kiasumum, I would like a kiasu school also (in terms of producing results)

This was what I sent to Jedamum.

BPPS was my first choice because it is popular and has good academic results. However my colleague was not very happy with the school as compared to SV (her daughter's now in SVPS). She said that BP is not systematic. When her son was in P6, there was no supplementary/ remedial lessons for Mathematics because the teacher only took in failures. Her son only scored 60+ and she had to look for a tuition teacher for him. Furthermore, his CL teacher didn't issue any consent form for extra coaching for CL oral. Those who can come come. Those who can't too bad. She thinks the sch has a bochap attitude. I'm still considering.

Found out from Jedamum that the school doesn't have an open house because the number of applicants have exceeded the number of vacancies all along. Just to compare, SVPS is as popular because there is balloting every year but the school has open houses for a few years now, as far as I can remember.

It is after all a very popular school. 😉

Ya, they dont have open houses last year and a few years before (as i was told).

                      Dear all,

I have a friend who have been teaching in BPPS for the past few years. Even herself didn’t like the school and has instead sent her children to SVPS. That’s very telling of the school’s culture isn’t it?

Actually I had also heard something similar to BPPS. One of my kids CC teacher mentioned that her friend was teaching in BPPS but her own kids didn't study there - they were in CHIJ. At that time I just thought it was a personal opinion and didn't take it seriously.

But I'd guess with just this school being very popular and with good results in the Bt Panjang area, they could afford to be bochap and have a don't care attitude as parents will always flock to that school. But from what I have heard on this forum other schools are catching up and soon BPPS will have some stiff competition.
