All About Math Olympiad Training & Questions

Hi Cheerfuldad (seeing your username I was so intensely urged to insert a smiley face)
Math Arena has shifted to Tampines blk 488b. It's a bomb shelter. Cosy and practical Not those aloof ones where parents are not allowed to enter! Thought you should find it under Math Hub. It is definitely a branch of Math Hub & not a franchise (though it bears a different name).Cheerfuldad:
Hi KingRascal,KingRascal:
(Hi Kohjl, wonder if we \"see\" each other there at times?
)
My DS is also at Math Arena. Have joined them since they started out in Bedok. I was very new to Math Olympiad thus did not know much about centres that provide such training. Math Arena's reputation (from Math Hub) attracted me and we tried it out without any referral. I was assured of their consistency in trainers and programme as it is part of Math Hub and not a franchise.
Never regret a single bit. DS enjoys himself so much that he pestered for more lessons during the holidays! He has also learnt alot, beyond what I thought he could comprehend.
I am keen to put my DS at Math Arena at Bedok. Will you be able to tell me the address? (I have done a search on Math hub but to no avail)
Thank you. -
Hi KingRascal,
Thank you for your info. Appreciate it.

Did any of the top scorers in NMOS manage to do so without any training or preparation ?
My DS took part this year without any training, not even the training programme in his school cos we were not imformed of it.
Naturally he didn’t do too well.
Btw are gold, silver and bronze awards only given to those who make it to the special round ?
Anyway to find out how many kids achieved such awards ? -
Those who got into round 2, minimum silver.
Results: 53 X Gold, 359 X Silver, 638 X Bronze, 1007 X honourable mention, balance 3499 X COP -

just to share a joke : my kid thinks that honourable mention is of higher recognition than gold or platinum ...Those who got into round 2, minimum silver.

I see so there is the participation grade below honorable mention.
So my boy didn’t do that badly considering he went without any preparation at all. -
Hi
Anyone can give feedback about Math Hub for k2 & lower primary level? -
May I know if the all kids have already received the NMOS certificates? I presume this should be given to them from the school that registered them DS1 still not received hers…
