Quintessential Mum:
Thank you. May you also have good experience in this school.
Thanks for sharing! It is good to know that you and your DD have had such an enlighthening and rewarding learning journey. You should consider running for the school board/PV committee as you and your DD have a lot of positive experiences in the school and reaped benefits from the school system. In this way, you can share your good experiences for the benefit of the other students that may have not experienced it. Good Luck to your DD for her upcoming O levels!

Hi Ca3kids,
Girls and boys have very different characters. My daughter is ‘auto’ when she has work to be done…no need to remind her. As for my son, I used to check his homework diary every day.
He became so dependent on that…so I adopted a ‘hands off’ approach. If he doesn’t complete his hw, then he will have to face the music. He has to learn it the hard way if he does not take responsibility. -

My children need reminder as they like to drag here and there. I will slowly let go of the reminder esp my P6 since now she is sec 1. FOr girls, they attention and energy is still ok but for son, he tend to sleep sometime while he is doing or tend to walk here and there or stand to do homework :stupid: So now training him to concentrate and sit properly.Hi Ca3kids,

You are welcome! So far the experience is pretty disappointing in terms of behavioural/discipline/academic standards. But it may be because their standards are just way below normal expectations. There lies the gap that some are willing to accept and some are not.
Thank you. May you also have good experience in this school.Quintessential Mum:

My son also has that problem...loves to drag his feet for everything - meals to showers and homework naturally. Even sitting properly to do his work is a problem

or else his nonsense will act up, like after sitting for a while, he claims to be thirsty, hungry or needs to use the loo :x

Boys have shorter attention spans versus girls. My god son was also like that but now he is already 15 and is so different - discipline, well behaved, mature. They usually grow out of it but it is important to lay down the rules at a young age and train them. Good Luck!

Yes yes yes...if they have computer games to play, don't even need to eat dinner. My son wants to eat at home more now, not bcos the food on the table is fantastic but bcos he can play on the PC.
When will he mature ?
Quinessential Mum, I think it's possible my son will mature late...judging from his behaviour. But we have a set of rules and time-table for him to follow after school (since P1). -

Computer games are addictive. I have always encouraged my DD to read and do other activities - learn a new sport/hobby etc instead of playing computer games. We do not own a PSP or Xbox!

I have hand-held games and Xbox…but I keep up the consoles during school term. Kids are allowed to play only for 1 hour during holidays (June and Dec).
