If you are considering registering… if you are staying <1km from the school, you should not have problem getting a place there for your child. Outside 1km, balloting is required.

My mum is staying opp KCP. Will be going down with her to MOE for Saluation Declaration. My mum has always been the main caretaker of my child when she was born. Even When I was staying in Yishun (prev) she attended the kindergarten in Bishan. She is a \"Bishan kid\"


I do not stay in Bishan but in AMK and is within 1km to St Nic and will try my luck under 2B which I am very sure balloting is req. So Will let god decided as to where my girl will be going.

What do you think of marymount convent? I was initially intended to put her there as a back-up but after some R&D realised not as idea as KCP.

Any opinion to share? Plus understanding KCP was award the SDA award which St Nic doesn't have.

I hope you are aware that if you are using your parents’ address, if there is balloting, you will be balloting with those staying 1-2km; so in this case, base on past P1 registration history of Kuo Chuan, you’re likely to go through balloting.


I didn’t do much work on Marymount, but if we are comparing Marymount Convent to Kuo Chuan, I would think KC has a slight edge over Marymount.

Yes I am aware that using my parent’s address, i will still require to go under balloting for 1-2km under 2C phrase. I am wondering, there is a 2C supplementary phrase. for a child who fail to get a place in a school of choice at phrase 2C. Does that means if my girl did not get a seat in KCP under 2C she can still have a chance under 2C supplement?

Yes…if you are not successful in getting a place under phase 2C, you can still register under phase 2C supplement, but not in KCP as by the end of phase 2C registration, there will not be any more places left. So by phase 2C supplement, you can only choose schools which still have "left-over" places.


For myself, I got myself the chance to register in 2 schools, both under phase 2B, just in case I don’t get a chance to register in the 1st choice school (because it is a very very popular school), I’ll still have the chance to register in the 2nd choice school and still under phase 2B.

Sorry for the confusion. No, I will not be registering in 2 schools at the same time. You see, I may be allowed (dependent on whether I get the recommendation ltr) to register in phase 2B in AiTong through clan affiliation. As you are aware, AT is a very popular school (as it is now, it looks to be heading for balloting in phase 2B either <1km or 1-2km), so if the above scenario happens, I will definitely not be able to register in AT, thus I will fall back on my backup school which is Kuo Chuan, and being a PV there, I could also register in phase 2B. If I do get the recommendation ltr, I will not be registering on first day, but hold out till the last day and probably the last hour, the moment, it became apparent that there will be no place for me in AT, I will head down to KC.
