I think art friend does…but only for certain brands…

Art friend colour pencils will be even more expensive than popular. Art materials are never cheap due to the quality and imported.

Any shop that specialise in art materials will sell the color pencils by individual colors and shades. I think it's good to have art materials of reasonable quality. Those really cheap ones can hardly be used at all - so cheap though they may be, they are really a waste of money. $1.50 for a single color is ok for kids - unless the child is the kind who breaks pencils or use them very carelessly, which I think is not the case for your child.
Maybe you can also introduce her to the cool colors - blue, purple etc. Show her some scenes of winter, or nice picture books that use that color spectrum to give her some ideas of how to use them? With Christmas coming, she can do some very nice pictures contrasting winter colors with warm colors. -

One suggestion is to buy a pack of colour pencils at Daiso. The entire pack of about 10 colours costs only $2. That works out to only $0.20 for each color pencil. Each pencil's body is wood, no color, only the lead is colored. The quality is good !not sure if this is the correct thread. but anyway, do u know whc shop sells color pencils by individual color?

never buy cheap ones as it is very hard to color as the color will appear very light on the paper…

I bought the LYRA Groove color pencils. They are slightly more expensive as the body comes with holes that help kids to grip the pencils better. Left-handers can also use them with ease. Only certain Popular bookshops stock them.

thanks to all
it mainly for my #3 (girl). she loves orange, pink, yellow, those bright colors and very difficult to convince her to try other colors. yes she does purposely break them if they are too sharp.
so i just buy the minimum box of 12 pencils in a box. i thnk around 3-4 dollars a box.
the daiso one is a gd try. will look out for it.
i ever bought popkidz brand. super lousy. keep breaking. -

Agreed with you on this point. -

I believe most kids are like that. Certain colours would be used up twice as fast as the others. We purchased the individual colours at Popular.thanks to all
