All bottom down to the ctr itself. Principal and Staff. My girl is in Pasir Ris MMI, at the age of five, she could write this to me when we brought her to Club Med PhuketHi Buds,
I called up every MMI, in the end all told me they are childcare based.Do not have any enrichment type.
\"jie jie you are the best!
Mummy you are the best!
Daddy you are the best!
Thank you for bringing me to ClubMed.
Thank you for teaching me Mathematic and English.
I love you all!
When she handed that to me she told me does it slang. I am impressed.
all this also bottom down to individual character, my 2nd girl she is more creative than her jie jie. She likes to show and express herself. During dinner she will say \"Mummy, enjoy your meal\" not like the usual saying \"mummy eat, daddy eat\" -
Hi,
This is a very enlightening thread.
Would like to ask if ds (5 yrs) has started reading (we did the basic 3 letter phonics and some blends- very basic) and is starting to read books and able to sort of guess or sound out most of the words that he has not seen, shld we still continue to teach phonics?
Also, how do I start getting him to do spelling? He is very reluctant to write and his penmanship is not good at all. He needs to practice a lot but is very reluctant. I am not sure if he knows his spelling as we have not tested him.
Appreciate your reply. -
Does anyone knows what is the fees for p1 creative writing for bristich council? From their website, it is $1.2 k, but is this per term or per mth?? :?

Same here....wait for their confirmation damn long. I called so many times to verify the status. In the end I gave up and decided to teach my child myself.

In my opinion, with this kind of service I better not consider them at all. -

It boils down to want him to be able to do really... If you find that he is
able to read fluent enough with what he currently knows, as you have
shared for now is the 3-letters and basic blends... plus guessing and i
suppose at this age, he should also have knowledge of many sight
words as well... then perhaps there isn't such a pressing need to
continue with Phonics.
However, if you wish to increase the fluency in his reading... say...
to be able to read without pausing... to be able to read without guessing..
but to be able to read by fast decoding skills/techniques... you may want
to consider resuming the phonics lessons at home or with a centre.jenao:
Spelling practices can be done via sight reading (memorizing) and alsoAlso, how do I start getting him to do spelling?
via phonetic skills. There are also plenty of games to encourage spelling
interest.

Try not to let it pass... this reluctance to practice penmanship. I've seenHe is very reluctant to write and his penmanship is not good at all. He needs to practice a lot but is very reluctant.
many students who lose marks for illegible handwriting and not for wrong
answers. It is a waste really...jenao:
Once you have tried on him, come back here and report... we'll see whatI am not sure if he knows his spelling as we have not tested him. Appreciate your reply.
we can work on from there, ok?
Regards, buds.

I beg to differ here.. in my opinion, it ultimately boils down to each
individual educator. It's like hiring a helper. You're lucky if you get
a good one.
It does not matter how established or how popular / well-known a
centre really is... in this people-oriented industry, it is the person
that really matters. It does not necessarily mean, one or two
staff/teachers are good... that they're all equally good but
there are definitely exceptions.
As for the Principal, it would be a plus if he/she is approachable,
knowledgable and also has an open-mind/open-door policy so
parents can offer feedback without qualms to help improve
centre quality and productivity. The other thing parents
should also note is that not all Principals take on their
own classes to teach.
