The top scorer of 282 is very very very good. To have 3 points more than the 2nd top scorer is a lot in terms of raw score for easy papers. This guy must have gotten 100 marks for at least 2 papers and near perfect score for the rest.

COP for most schools should be higher this year.

\"COP for most schools should be higher this year\" - appreciate if you can elaborate the reason. πŸ˜„

Just my observation over the years.

When the papers are easy, top scorer will be around 280. When 1 or more papers are killer, top scorer will be more than 285.

When papers are easy, COP for RGS is about 265 and when there is a tough paper, COP for RGS is about 262.

I think it has got to do with the \"spread\" or standard deviation. When paper is easy, the spread will be smaller so many students will be bunched together in the range of 250 to 275.
I share the same analysis as you in general. Although I'm wondering now - in 2008 and 2010, both years had easy papers. But EESIS COP for 2008 was 263 whereas in 2010 it's down to 260. Therefore the performance of students in 2010 is weaker in 2010 than 2008. Hence, I would expect COP of RGS this year to be about 259 and not in the region of 265.

        Hi 25hour,

You mean if i chose SJI, My son may be able to switch to IP

Sorry, I only know that they are on the new IP school list, but forgot when they are going to implement it, have not been following the info.

What I meant was you might want to find out more about the possibilities of going inot the IP route if you decide to put SJI as your 1st choice.

Just curious would my son be able to switch to Ip Programme in 2013. That means in Secondary 3, can he switch to IP programme if he chose SJI?
SJI will be starting their IP wef academic year 2013; see details at

Is westwood sec good? any comments?
I have a friend in there, he said it's not bad. Um, I'm not sure if this is a good thing, it's very near Bukit Panjang Plaza and many students go there for lunch between the period, after school and before CCA starts.
I have a T score of 254 (+1)

Will I have a chance to get into DHS, considering I have a GE status and that the COPs would be lower this year?
              Thanks for the help!

I was :!: when I saw my low score of 254. Fortunately, I found out that the PSLE overall T-score also was really low πŸ™

BTW: I HATE THIS YEAR'S PSLE!!!! ONLY THE CAREFUL PUPILS BENEFIT FROM THIS, NOT THE SMART ONES(like me) :x :x :x :x :x

              PS: I have EESIS.

              Got any hope? I kiasu.

No harm trying. What are your 2nd and 3rd choices.
2nd choice is HCI as it is far from my home.
              3rd choice is NJC.
I dont pick RI as my teacher said it was too 'cruel'

If you don't mind a small school with strict discipline, you can try Peirce Sec (along Upper Thomson Road). Main entrance from Sin Ming Road (beside Bishan Park Secondary School).

PSS is strong in uniform groups.

Hi ds also has 209... having same problem on selecting reputable sch ard woodlands/yishun/bukit batok.... anybody can help... thks :?:

I'm recommend Bukit View, I'm from there. I'd recommend it. The teachers are hardworking and often stay back to help the weaker students. My school focuses a lot on the environment, so our CIP is often environment themed. I mentioned it before, but my class/school mates are one of the most hardworking people I've ever met, they also have the results to prove it! I think my school's strong CCAs are the dances and uniformed groups.
Hi youare_ugly.... thanks for your recommendation... i'll look into the sch profile...

There are limited schools with T-score 210 for Express class. Anybody here would like to share your advice? I really don't wish to put my child in a lousy school. Can I appeal to opt for normal class in Good school? Teacher told me I cannot as result stated \"Express\" 😒

First thing first, where do you stay? West, etc etc? Not all schools with a COP of 210++ is a lousy school. In my experience, I'm in a T-score 210++ school, and my class/school mates are one of the most hardworking people I've ever seen, it really depends on the individual.

area- Bishan, AMK or Toa Payoh. Sorry, please don't feel offended. I mean I need school with less \"ah beng\". After seeing news on gang fights, I'm worried.

How about Yuhua, Fuhua or Westwood?
I just commented on Westwood (look below!), I know Fuhua has a good robotics CCA and a shooting range, therefore their shooting must be quite good lar! I'm not too sure about Yuhua though.
