i scored 210 coming from the top 3 class.. i really can't believe it because i studied very hard and i just fell sick right after the chinese paper, really unbelievable.. 😞

You will remember this many years later... that auntie 2ppaamm told you that PSLE is just not important and does not affect your life one bit no matter what score you got. BUT, you must remember to work hard going forward no matter what secondary school you got into.

And, you will do better than many who will go through the doors of elite secondary schools, as long as you choose to be hardworking, independent, reliable, ethical and lawful. Guaranteed!

Nobody will remember your score 2 years from now, if you indeed go along these lines. :celebrate:

My son got 226 for PSLE. We are staying in Hougang area. Do not mind travelling to AMK or Bishan. As this is my eldest child, I am really at a loss as to how to go about to chose the 6 schools for him. I would really appreciate it if someone can help to advise.

Just curious to find out. If psle not important then why so many parent still very kan chong marks? top score etc. Most of the parents should have gone through psle and should have concluded psle is not important but surprisingly still very kan chong leh. Take this thread for example already hit about 90 pages in a day. :?

              Hi all,

My ds is 258+1 and in GE, he was pretty disappointed with the result. his classmate is the nation’s top performer this year.

he is very keen in RI as his 1st choice, but considering the last few years cop, personally I think it’s not very safe. i prefer HCI or NJC as the 1st choice instead. any suggestion?

              tks

                Well said.

I came from a pretty good school but was an average student in PSLE (During my days, PSLE result was less stressful - it was either \"pass\" or \"fail\"). Academically, my results probably an outlier - My university grades were the best while my PSLE, I felt, were the worst. I even snubbed an overseas scholarship and went to local university instead.

PSLE is and will always be one of the many milestones in one's life, it is definitely not the most important one.

I think the best decision I made after my PSLE result was choosing the school that I like, not succumbing to parents' influence.

So for all the students out there, follow your heart in selecting the school of your choice.

                Good Luck.

how should i choose for 210 in east side? my mom chose a few for me, but she isn't very decisive, and couldnt decide whats the best for me

Take a rest for today, its a hard day, sleep well now ...... Tomorrow check for more information on school in the internet.

When things/issues look confusing, take a deep breadth, sit up right, bring your head further back away from where you are looking or staring or studying. Close your eyes for 5 minutes. Then work on it from start again. It will become easier to resolve.

Some other important points other than COP :-
You may also visit the schools personally and look at the other aspects such as their CCA etc if they interest you, other than just base on results.

For example, if you are in Band in Primary School, then check on if their strength in Band etc. Or Table Tennis.... or Badminton or swimming. Uniform groups ? OR School debates. The School achievement in CCAs, in Debates. MT level, English level?

You can also check on the school other achievement and motto etc. Also on the design of uniform and color.

Visit the school environment, the field, track and field, the canteen what type of food available, the library, the toilets.

Talk to the admin auntie if friendly, talk to some teachers and talk to some students. Look at the students behaviours, ask the students about how they feel about studying there. Ask them about the CCA there, any favourite teachers, any favourite subjects. Celebration on Festivals etc. Look at the notice board, the students notices and work.

Organize your findings, Give some thoughts about your priority vs your findings, matching them, then decide your choices. If it is still too difficult, do by eliminating the ones that you dislike first.

                  Hope it helps.

Anyone have any opinion or feedback about the followings schools:-
                        :?

                        1) St Gabriel Sec Sch
                        2) Montfort Sec Sch
                        3) St Patrick Sec Sch

Am considering for my boy with 210.

                        Thanks in advance

Are you affilated to any of them?

Montfort was 206, St Gab was 218 and St Patrick's was 225 for non-affilated last year.
