I am new to this site and I am doing secondary schools’ selection for my daughter who has just gotten her PSLE results. My daughter’s score is 246 with distinction in HMT. I wonder if she does stand a chance to apply for River Valley which had COP of 251 in 2010. Anyone can help?

Thank you for sharing. my daughter got 261+3 and has DSA of MGS, she wants to appeal NYGS, is it wothy to do that? after all she was enrolled in a special programm: Sophia Blackmore programm of MGS, anybody learn about this programm?

My understanding is MGS SPC program is as good as GEP class. NYGS student will progress to HCJC at year 5 and take A lvl there. MGS will need to take 'O' Level end of year 4 , it all depends on what your child wants.

[/quote]Thanks lot. the problem is she doesn't know what she wants seriouly, she just wants NYGH for being together with her friends, because most of them are going to NYGH. With her T score, will she be the bottom of the cohort in NYGH?

Alamak!  You make me sound like an expert in this area! Please don't for I am not! Merely helping out since I have gone through this twice and am done with it.

Okay, back to serious business. Thought you have not decided on the choices yet? Thought you wanted to go and look-see over the weekend?

But looking at it, I would say your choices are good and chances of getting into either Maris Stella or CCHM is quite high. Have you considered Dunman Sec too (COP 231) and I heard that it is also not bad.
keke. That's why I need the advices from all of you who have went through the process. This is the 1st time I going through the process with my son. My next one will be 5 yrs later.

Thanks for the advice. Will be busy over the weekends going from sch to sch.

If you are confident that yr son has something that SJI needs, put SJI as first choiuce and Maris nxt. Hve to inform you that the appeal list is approx 200 long.

Can anybody clarify with me Why the table G-1 on the booklet does not include all sch? There are only 66 schools on that list, but there are totally 160+ schools, I understand there are some IP schools should be excluded, but still meet that gap. Thanks.

I need to know the Band level for the target school.
