Fairfield Methodist takes in affilated students, so a lot of students' scores are way below the COP. Bt Panjang is a better choice as all the students' score are above COP.MixedHerbs:
Hi, need some advice here. My DS got 241 (A* for MT), and we are thinking of the following choices:
1) SJI (COP 241)
2) Nan Hua (COP 242)
3 or 4) Bt Panjang Gov High (COP 241)
3 or 4) Fairfield Methodist Sec (COP 240)
5 or 6) Swiss Cottage (COP 234)
5 or 6) St Andrew Sec (COP 233)
Any advice?
How is Bt Panjang when compared to Fairfield Methodist?
Thanks much!!
guess my earlier got 'lost' along the way.. any advice from anyone?? Thanks!! -

Hmm, I did ask you earlier on, but from the school that you choose i presume you are staying in the east. Hence, No doubt RV is a good school. But do consider the distance, its a 6 years commitment

Hi Maisy, why did you say putting CCHM is very 'secure'? CCHM COP is 236 but her son got 238. I thought he should be able to get into CCHM if he fails for Anglican? Plse enlighten me (I also deciding btw putting Anglican or CCHM as 1st choice). Thanks in advance.
Last year COP for Anglican (240) & Chung Cheng High Main (236). For selecting SAP schools, your son's score will be 236+2 (238).NiNi:
Hi 25HourMaid,
No problem. Thanks for your help.
I am confused. My son's PSLE scores is 236 and he has extra 2 bonus pt on HTM. We stay in Tampines. So far our choices are as follows:
1) Anglican High
2) Chung Cheng High
3) Nan Chiau High
4) Tanjong Katong Sec
5) Ngee Ann Sec
6) Dunman Sec
Dear all parents and friends, your advice is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
I guess he can still try Anglican if that is his \"dream school\" since he is only 2 pts away.
But if he is fine with either CCHM or Anglican (ie he has no preference w.r.t these 2 schools so long as he gets into one of these 2), then putting CCHM as 1st choice will be more \"secure\". -

Hi,
With a score of 225, like to hear what is the advice for the following choice:
1) Kuo Chuan Presbyterian - 227
2) Chung Cheng (Yishun) - 230
3) Riverside - 229
4) CHIJ St Joseph - 226
5) Ang Mo Kio - 227
6) Peirce - 208
My idea is to maximize the chance to get into any of the 1-5 school and use 6, hopefully with enough buffer just in case fail to get into the top 5 choices. Thank you so much.
Hi, if you look at the past COPs for schools, you notice that they don't change very much, which means Kuo Chuan's COP likely to remain 227 or +/- 1 or 2 points, Chung Cheng +/- 1 to 2 pts from 230 etc.
This means that you may likely be posted to CHIJ St Joseph or otherwise Pierce.
It is best if your last 3 choices are COP at 225 or less to play safe, since it may also be likely that COP may increase this time round.
Do look at other good value-add schools with such COPs.
I have tried to look for sch below 225, anyone has some recommendations, pls let me know, btw - I live near AMK...TIA

other than ACS(I), can consider SJI as well, the school is offering scholarship for those with 258 an above, it has a good racial mix as well ...
Being a student myself, i feel that he should not limit yourself to schools in one zone of the country as there are many other areas and schools which this boy could qualify for.Wisedad:
Hi all,
I am new to this forum but found it stunningly informative, especially with awesome contributors like 25hourmaid.
For a boy living in west with PSLE aggregate of 258, what school choices would you suggest? He is non-chinese. So no SAP schools please.
Thank you very much.
The elite schools in that area include the SAP school river valley(not an option) and a school for girls, MGS(also unthinkable)
I think it would be best for this boy to go to other schools in other areas of the country. (Just as long as it's not extremely far)
I would try ACS independent. It is not a SAP school. It is quite far though so you might want to consider other equally good schools instead -

My daughter is from bukit panjang PS, her T score is 229
Can she try bukit panjang high even though the min t score is 241 cos her mom and aunties were alumni, possible to appeal?
Simialry can she try st margaret as 1st choice? She puts CHIJ St Joseph Convent min 226 as second choice, will she be penalized for not putting CHIJ as 1st choice? -
pecalis:
Yes, just try, missed by 1 mark shouldn't be much of a problem. Quite high chance. gd luck
Hi, no harm trying as you miss by just 1 mark. Even if can't get into DHS, Cedar should be no problems.Advisepls:
Hi. I'm not a parent, but a child using her mother's account. I just set up the account and my mother asked me to ask a question on her behalf.
I would like to ask if it is wise of me to choose these 6 schools which are currently on my list of preferred secondary shcools. My aggregate score is 255+2(for HCL) and i am from Kong Hwa School.
1.Dunman High
2.Cedar Girls
3.Anglican High
4.CCHMS
5.TKGS
6.Temasek secondary school
:?:
The COP for Dunman High is 258 and one mark higher than my aggregate of 257 so i would like to ask if it is wise for me to try to get into that school.
Thank you
