252 + 3 may be above RV's COP for this year, but if they did not put RV as one of their choices from the beginning, a bit difficult to appeal as all seats would have already been taken up at central posting, so appeal cases depend on people withdrawing or a few limited reserved seats which some schools keep for appeal cases. -
My child has 250+2 with 2A and 2A*. She’s planning to appeal to NJC. Does she really need to put NJC as first choice, she missed last yr’s COP by 7 points. Icalled NJC, ,they only have 190 places left Anyone understand how the system works?
I assume students are all placed in a straight line starting from the top student first choice school.
Am i right to say, all will be given first choice school first if they meet the COP. Then all the remaining student who missed by first choice will be lined in straight line again to check if their second choice school still have vacancy?
REALLY NEEDED ADVICE AS SHE HAS DONE S1 OPTION. Understand still have chance to alter. She has placed
1. RVH
2. NJC

The selection is based on merit before choice. Based on the no of places left, the child will be selected based on her score and the applicants’ scores. Hope this helps.

7 points gap is quite huge
by all means put it as first choice, it won’t affect the rest of the choices
difficult to justify an appeal if you do not put them as your first choice, from the school’s point of view -
okay, i am interested in Pasir Ris Crest Secondary school but the cut off point is 220 and i only got 210, i want to know if i try to appeal, will it be successful? Also, what is the procedure of appealing? TIA.

Suggest you call up the school to find out their procedure. Good luck! -
Some schools are already accepting appeals. Do call up the school and ask. You might have to go their general office to pick up the appeal form.

The thread’s title should be changed to something like ‘Questions about appealing’. You made this thread look appealing instead.
