is it a need for me to put pasir ris crest at the first choice if i want to appeal?workinghard:
okay, i am interested in Pasir Ris Crest Secondary school but the cut off point is 220 and i only got 210, i want to know if i try to appeal, will it be successful? Also, what is the procedure of appealing? TIA.
Don't forget 220 was last year cut-off, so while you call the school to find out more, submit your dream school as the first choice still. In case got rejected then you go appeal, emphaise how you can contribute to the school, such as sport reprensentive, leadership position, performance arts CCA. etc. also work on your 2nd choice seriously, just in case... -
My son was 5 point short based on last years COP. We appealed immediately on the 25th stressing on his particular sports ability… he was accepted today… bring in any testimonial as supporting document… it helps

is it a need for me to put pasir ris crest at the first choice if i want to appeal?[/quote]Better to choose a school you can meet cop than to choose one that need to appeal. Those at the bottom of the class will have to straggle for 4 years, the teacher would not wait for you before moving on. So is better to be the top 50% in the class, the bottom 20% will feel the pressure. This is reality. :idea:ApronMama:

yes indeed we must also be realistic in regards to the COP. Its really pointless to opt for a school when you have absolutely no chance. So why are people appealing… a simple answer is to get into the best school possible with the existing results. So why the best school possible… a simple answer will be the bottom 50% of a better school may still be better than the top 50% of a lesser school… how to measure… National Examinations…PSLE is one of them to begin with…if there is a chance go for it… appeal cos you dont do it everyday…like what was said earlier… be sure to manage your other choices wisely…

How does the posting system take into consideration your success in appeal? It would still base on your T-score to check the availability from your first choice. -

Hi, need your advise.
I thought appeal only starts when we know the outcome of the posting results when our choice is not selected? -
YJL:
There is no where written, that appeal can only be accepted after the postings. Of cos the school that you are appealing may ask you to come back after the posting. Reckon each school has its own unwritten rules. Think of ways to substantiate your appeal away from the crowd is key.mellette:

Hi mellette,
May I know which secondary school you have appealled? What sports ur son is taking? Any interview from the principal?
My girl also 5 points short based on last year COP. I also think of appealing.
May I know how you go about doing it. Thanks in advance. :celebrate: -
Each school has their own ways of dealing with appeals. Some may look at whether you put them as first choice, some don’t bother with that. I know of successful appeals where the school they successfully appealed into was not even on the list of 6 choices. Some schools just look at what you can offer the school, be it sports, performing arts etc. If you’re appealing based on a particular sports, be prepared that the school will hold you to your word and make you take that sport for all 4 years of secondary school.
