how do we spread the various cops for each of the 6 choices please? and do I need to consider the band of the schools?

thanks for all the info and contributions provided
The banding of the schools are based on the GCE 'O' Level results, I think.
(although many parents use that as a yardstick)
But there are many other aspects which you may want to consider like - CCA achievements, school values, school programmes etc.

Banding, you can read from you child’s book.

        Express is based on school’s O Level L1B5 average score. L1 = 1st Language and B5 = Best 5.

        Normal is based on L1B4.

Choice 1 is the most important. Make sure you give COP careful consideration especially many believe most COP will be same or higher. For me, DS is in full school, so we just select the same school.

Choice 2 to 5, I make some gamble to stretch the lower COP a little.

Choice 6 must also take the second most care, I would choose one which child’s score should be middle to top of the COP range, do not stretch to the bottom of the COP. So if really landed in Choice 6, you child will be in the better class of the school.

I was told that T-Score is up to 6 decimal point, so Choice 6 Score is greater than say Choice 2, the one with Choice 6 will go in. Can anyone verify this?

        My 2 cents worth.

I think that ur choices should be the following:
            1)Guangyang
            2)Whitley
            3)Bartley
instead....Very slim chances of getting in to Pierce so I did not list it but up to you. Good luck! ^^

thank you Desi....if my boy is keen to go bartley, and if i list it as his 1st choice, he should be able to get in right, if the COP doesnt change?

Put your choices in order of preference
                Simply put
Think which school your DS wants to go , put that as choice 1. If his score meets the COP he will be allocated that school, the rest of the choice do not matter.
If there are no vacancies in his school of first choice, then the second choice is considered and so on.
If your son wants Bartley as his first school of choice then put that as the first choice. Then his next best preference , so on.

                hope this is clear

Yup, since he qualifies for the COP last year by 7 points - which is a lot. So even if the COP goes up, it won't go up as much as 7 points. Hope I helped and all the best! 😉
