      MMM:

my P3 enjoyed her science lessons and went on to score well in her SA2. They do experiments in class, etc... so some of those section B questions become closer to heart..

Hi MMM, where do you send your DD for science tuition?

She used to go to extra edge but unfortunately, the school closed down. We are making arrangements with her science teacher to give her private tuition with another friend. As I feel that it's better to learn science in a group rather than 1-1 setting.

In our case, we are hopeless with science so we opted for tuition. It was a wise decision as my P3 enjoyed her science lessons and went on to score well in her SA2. They do experiments in class, etc... so some of those section B questions become closer to heart.

But if parents are able to guide, I think it's fine. But for us, both my hubby and I are just science phobic since our school days. It's really beyond us.
I don't mind 'wordy' topics but not those like Magnets (Interactions) as well as Electricity...hubby said I'm not a physics person.

A solid understanding is important, which can be achieved by cultivating a love for Science in the child. It helps to have someone who is passionate about Science to teach your child so that some of that passion rubs off on him or her. While we can’t control the type of school teachers assigned, we can compensate for that through the careful selection of home tutors!

Science can be very interesting...although there are several concepts to remember and also the way to answer the questions according to PSLE standard.

Yesterday I spoke to a current science teacher cum tutor, her way of teaching seems impressive, not sure all talk the same cos I spoke to another female cum teacher also said the same thing.

Just wonder, science is it always like what one say, identify the topic, keyword and understand. Also, in science itself, there are impt key topics that are always testing over and over again. Its the variety of questions that the child is being exposed to rather than the quantity of questions that worked through, quote from the science tutor.

                cheers

I know what you mean...sometimes we don't know if it's really all talk and no action or really mean what they say. But having keywords is true and exposure to quality and quantity of questions is also crucial.

Very encouraged to read and gain a lot of informative knowledge from this forum. My gal will be in P3 next year and just started to read on the Science topics. I read ahead of her so that we can discuss and share what is \"Science\" about. I am not a \"Science\" person but by reading thru those booster notes, I learn quite a fair bit though

I personally agree with the above, especially with the new PSLE Science syllabus.
