Anderson is a coed and a double session school. It is strong in sports and athletic programmes. Most people would consider Kuo Chuan Presbyterian to be the more balanced school.Between Anderson primary and KCP in Bishan which one is a better school?
Btw is anderson is single session sch? -

KCP to be more balanced in what terms? I realised KCP also double session school with P1 & 2. I check with the school today and realised that Anderson last year PSLE score was quite ok at 275. My worry is priority if I failed for St nic under 2B I should be concentrating on getting a place in a \"ok\" school that require no balloting <1km from my house. Once secure, then I worry about logistic. At least, P2 can still transfer. Am I right?

Balanced as in good focus on academic, character development, and sports. It is a very well managed school.
Anyway, I agree that Anderson is a good \"2nd\" choice in your particular case. While you can do so, try not to change primary schools if your child is already doing well in the original school. It is very disruptive for the child, especially at that age. -
tks chief for your elaboration. What about Marymount convent? Any feedbacks?

Sorry... don't know much about that school. It strikes me as kind of a schizo school... sometimes it is quite popular, sometimes nobody seems to want a place in it. Also, it seems like it places a lot of value on character development and aesthetics (choir, gym) and sports (swimming). It hasn't got any kids graduating about 275 in PSLE yet, does OK in English, but not so good with Chinese and Malay. That's all I know. -
My neighbour transferred her gal out of Marymount in P2. She told me that the school gives lots, really lots of homework in P1.

i will not recommend AMK Pr, the teacher does not reponse to your email and bad at handling children conflict. The principle is not attentive too.
-
How about TecK Ghee ? anyone has any comments about this school ?
thanks

i intend to transfer my son there and register my younger for 2009 P1. i heard from friend that the teacher are more responsive. I also heard from my son tuition teach that the teaching are more systematic than AMK Pr.

I am eyeing for St Nick under Phase 2B (1-2km) but chances are so slim now. I will be trying for Anderson. Perhaps for the better because it is just walking distance for my daughter. School bus fares are going to increase soon. While I am thinking of transfer at P2 but St Nick will be going for upgrading for 2 years in 2010-2011, so they will be placed at a holding school.
