...my daughter is only 3 mths now. But I asking ahead of time...

 For a moment I thought you qualify for our super-kiasu mummy award 😄

Hope you get into Holy Innocents for your son this year... that way you can skip all the P1 registration hassle for your daughter!

        Hi Socks

this is what my friend said of CHIJ Bt Timah. Gabby is her girl who is in Pri 1. Hope it helps.

What touches me about them is that Gabby had an awful time fitting in initially. She used to cry so badly she couldn’t speak. They gave her a school counselor, the old principal (Sr Joan), and the form teacher called me daily, and were kind and loving. On top of regular work, they also have loads of mock-ups, drama, plays, school visits, community visits (charity work). Gabby’s class has 2 students that are mute, and 1 student that is hearing impaired (so bad, the teacher has to wear a headphone & battery while teaching so she can hear). But they do it, and they do it happily. Now that to me, is a good school. Personal touch.

Principal insists on compulsory CCA (formerly known as ECA) from P3 onwards. They’re very good at band, tap dance and choir.

The school streams from P2 onwards, but it’s not “official”. 1Hope (where Gabby is), 2Hope, and 3Hope are the best classes. Then the best class shifts to the Peace (4P, 5P, 6P) classes

            Hi Ros!

Thank you so so much for sharing. That’s exactly my concern for choosing a primary school - caring & positive environment. I think you have helped me to make up my mind now. Phew!

              Hi icebaby!

You sure are ahead of time! I wish I had come across this website earlier. Really gives me a dose of reality on how competitive and challenging it is to enrol into primary school.

And yes, there are many myths about priority registration if you are an ex-girl. Some even said being an ex-student of IJ Secondary will entitle you to register at phase 2A. But it is NOT true!! Checked with the alumini and principals already.

Hahaha. Well, actually for my son, I even went to the school to see the VP in regards to Parents Volunteering when my son was 3 yrs old. Cos I didn't want to do things last minute...just wanted to find out the process of registering and what things are done. =P

If possible, might prefer to put my daughter in an IJ school.

                    Hi,

I just checked the CHIJ (Bukit Timah) web site but could not find their PSLE results. Does anyone knows about what is the school’s recent PSLE results?

                    Thank you.
