Cedar Girls Secondary School

Individualist:
Hello! ELDDS, is made up of two parts, drama and debate. To join this cca, your dd will have to go for both auditions - drama and debate. She will eventually have to choose one to focus on. Both library and ELDDS ccas, are not bad, but it is more on the 'reserved side'. Sports ccas are the niches in Cedar. It is not advisable not to join 2 CCAs, in my view, as it might be quite stressful for your dd. CCAs are more competitive in secondary school, and you have to be quite committed. ELDDS has CCAs on Tue and Fri, about 3 hours each session. During competitions, sessions and training are increased. And for library, I'm not sure because my seniors go in for CCA in different days.
*Sorry to reprint this. I'm learning how to quote messages*
Hi! I'm new hr and i'm glad i chance upon this wonderful group. Can someone help me on CCA matters pls.
My DD got 252 for her PSLE ths yr. Our 1st choice is Cedar. One of her hobby is reading. She wanted to join LDDS (Drama) and library. My question is;
Is it advisable for her to have 2 CCAs?
How good are ths CCAs in Cedar?
Tks in advance... -

my dd from girl guides. first year alone easily fill up all the required CIP hours and more. don't even need to find her own CIP to do. a lot of fun and learning. let your DD go through the cca auditions before deciding what she likes.twilight:

basics:
read the FAQs on cedar's website about cedar selecting 50 girls for the VIP at the end of the girls' sec 2 (in year 2012). Still not quite sure if these 50 girls will go to VJC from 2013 or do these girls stay at Cedar until 2014 and then go to VJC from 2015?
They will stay put at Cedar's. When the new 7 IP schools were announced last yr, there was a newspaper article which mentions that one of the conditions for Cedar taking on the merger with VS is that the girls remain at the sec school for 4 yrs before going to VJC. -

And does it take up lots of time, like weekend and holidays also need to go back? thanks for sharingmyprincess:
