Look out for purely creative writing classes for him. TAS has but not many. Or you could join holiday classes that focus on writing. I know many centres have classes that focus just on cw.
Can help to share on the centres that typically organises holiday classes on creative writing?

      Thanks.

      Rgds,
      Ming

        Hi Ming,

These are the centres that my friends have sent their children to for holiday classes on creative writing:

        - British council
        -The Writer's Place
        - The Alternative Story

I have myself sent my kids to The Alternative Story. For another friend and I who sent our kids there, we like it. The teachers were good and we like the materials and teaching methods.

For the British Council, a friend who sent her kids there said that the kids came back happy and wanting to learn more but she said she did not find the content very suitable to help for exams but she was happy still as she took it as more of an enrichment.

For The Writer's Place, another friend who sent her child there said she found it good and her child liked it although she had to learn quite a lot of phrases but her child could take it so it was good.

PM me if you are interested to register your kid. to enjoy referral incentive from TAS :snuggles:[/quote]

            TAS wrote:
            Hi parents,

We are having a special referral promotion from now (Jan 27
2011 to February 25 2011- we have extended the
date to 25 Feb as some parents say their friends have
children still finishing their terms at other centres so they
can only join at the end of Feb).

Anyone who refers a friend to us for class (English, Science
and NSA-Newspaper and Storybook Analysis class) can will get
            $10 per person referred.

The friend who is referred will also get $20 off their term fees.

            How does this work:
Eg: If you refer 3 people, you will get $30 off and each person you
refer will get $20 off their term fees. If the person you refer
has 3 children joining us, you will get $30 off and the person
will get $20 off the term fee of each child.

            - The friend whom you recommend needs to give us your
child's full name (name + surname), level (eg. P1) and
branch your child is in (AMK, Bukit Timah or East)

            - When the friend signs up with us, he or she will
get the discount off their term fee and you will
get the discount off for your next term's fee.

            - During this promotion period, you can refer any number
            of people.

            - At the end of the year, we will also take note of the
people who refer the most number of friends to us
(during the promotion and non promotion period
and the person who refers the most-must be at
least 30 and above- will get an IPAD). This
person must also of course still be with us at
            TAS.

We actually have this year end gift every year- but this
year's gift has been changed to an IPAD.

                    Hi parents,

Anyone knows if any of the above centres or other well known centres offer student care services? My friend is urgently looking for one. The existing one that her child is in is not fantastic and the teachers do not seem to care much about the kids there. The homework supervision is also not done well. I was thinking student care services offered by well known tuition centres would be give if any as least the quality could be better. (sorry if I am going off topic
