Hi. What is a Smartcard please? Based on the school calendar, there was supposed to be a photo taking for the Smartcard some weeks back but when I asked my dd about it, she said that there was no photo taking that day.

      Thanks!

It is for the P1 and P6 students. Those cards the girls can use to take public buses with their faces in it

Thanks. Maybe that's why my dd was not involved since she is neither in p1 nor p6. Is it the ezilink card?
Yeah i think so.

My dd is in one of these classes. As the top 80 mainstream students are placed in these classes, i am using this as a yardstick as to how she is doing as she paces herself towards psle. My hope is that she remains in one of these classes at p5/6 and thereafter enters the sec school of her choice.

Yup can be very challenging being in top 80 class, really got to work hard to stay on. 9 pupils were transfered back to mainstream last year, I guess with the introduction of subject based banding

I guessed is not easy to maintain in class E & F. Well I believed the girls have worked very hard for it. Kudos to the girls as well as the parents walk along the way with them.

Aren't the students kept intact in their classes from P5 to P6? That is, if you're in P5E/F, you'll be in P6E/F?

yes it should be the ezlink card
That is equivalent to our bus card during our time. But now they put a mircochip in there to make it smarter. It can now store money value for bus/mrt and as ID for public library during P1-P6 before they get their actual IC.

Do you mind sharing what are the kind of results P3 kids expected to have before they are placed into E&F classes? So that parents like us know what is the benchmark to work towards.

                  Thanks πŸ™‚

So it is unavoidable to see some students transfer in and out every year. But I guess the number would be small.

There are a number of students will go to GEP (25 went to GEP in 2009).

Does it mean the top 100 students have the chances to stay in E/F classes?
