My son is in P2 and he quite weak in math and chinese. Thought of enrolling him for Math and Chinese Tuition.
Any recommendation which tuition centre are good for math and chinese?
Thanks to feedback. -
Hi,
Depends on your locations. I stayed in the east, my DS is with ChapterOne and JEI Math. Both are located at Parkway Centre.
ChapterOne - I can't find any tread here. I spoke to the owner. They invested alot in developing their own worksheets. You can pay them a visit. Speak to the owner, ask for Hok Peng.
JEI Math - They have an integrated programme for P2. One is focus on operation weaknesses the other is focus on problem solving skills. Speak to the programme manager, Jason. The tread in this forum is http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19004 -
Heard Berries is better than tian xie. Go and find out and see which suit your child better

Is Han language centre good?
Thanksโฆ -
Hi Truffle, thanks for the info! Seems like you are very experienced when it comes to choosing Chinese enrichment. I am just curious , would you care to share how these two centres compare (out for 5 stars) according to the following criteria?
a) Teacher Quality
b) Material Quality
c) Centre Service
d) Location
e) Value for Money
I am trying to compile a comparison list like this and share with all kiasu parents at kiasuparents.
truffle:
In my opinion, Berries and EduPlus are better for kindergarten to lower primary! My son has been with EduPlus since k1. Their methods make learning fun and effective!
As for Tien Hsia, their materials and programme are more academic driven and comprehensive! Again, it depends on individual kid's needs!
My son is taking higher Chinese in P4 this year so I am giving tien hsia a try to see how it works out for him!nz:
truffle,
Do you know the difference between berries and tien hsia for upper primary? Does tien hsia have higher std than berries? Thanks. -
I am not an expert in choosing chinese enrichment centre. it is all based on feedback from parents and my own opinion and also how my son 's adapt to the programme.
which two centres centre are you referring to?mr_ding:

Hi truffle, I understand. Nobody is an expert. Everyone gives feedback based on their experience. And it is this real life experience and word of mouth that is so valuable and unbiased.
Your opinion counts as much as any other parent.
I was refering to Berries and EduPlus. Specifically the branches you went. -
