Can toddler of between 1-2yr old take prune juice to aid in bowel movement? My boy's bowel movement averages about every 5days which got me seriously worried :?:

I remember I gave prune juice to my dd when she was little. she is 8 this year. I would think you could but would suggest that you read the instruction on the bottle label to be safe. 😄

You can buy organic prunes or those w/o any preservatives, chop them up and add them in the breakfast cereal or yogurt.

I add chopped prunes into my DS's oats after he turned 1 year.

Best to get kids introduced to a variety of fruits as soon as possible. DS eats fruits at least 3 or 4 x a day and he has a fixed timing in the morning (after breakfast) for his bowel movement.

          😄 😄

Sounds very familar ... ds used to be like that since he was a baby. Yes, doctor told me prune juice helps. But don't wait till day 4 when it's all jam up inside then give prune juice. Too late.

From my own experience, different brands (some for adults some specially for babies) taste a bit differently and effect varies too. You might want to try different brands and see which one works. Those in baby bottles type was not \"powerful\" enough for ds. I used big bottles.

However, must warn you that prolong use of prune juice might be damaging to baby's teeth. Must always drink water or at least rinse mouth after prune juice.

My boy's 4 upper front teeth had major problem as he was bottle fed with prune juice, later drank from cup when he could manage. Tooth decay started very early for him and I had to search for good dentist to \"save\" whatever was left of those teeth.

            Papaya, watermelon, bananas help too!

I bought those prune juice specially for babies for my son when he had constipation.

Go the the babies’ jar food section in the supermarket and find the Henize baby’s prune juice.

Try not to buy those Del Monte big bottle one as I think they are more suitable for adults and it’s more concentrated but if really no choice you probably got to dilute it before you give it to your child.

Buy Gerber or Heinz baby prune juices. Don’t give adult ones.

In fact, my toddler gal never needed to drink prune juice as freshly scraped ripe pear (packham) works very well. Better than any other fruit. She’s also currently on Pediasure and the nicely formed poop comes at least once a day. We give her fruit at least once a day, after lunch. She munches on apple slices too in between but apples or grapes don’t help in the bowel movement.

My son depended on baby prune juice as we were not experienced with babies back then. If we had given him more fruits, juice may not have been necessary.

Or apple cider vinegar, or friendly bacteria to help relieve constipation

Honey water is another good option in aiding constipation.

There is a gummy fiber chewable for kids in the market now as I have been approach by supplier. But this chewable gummy is only suitable for kids who are able to take solid food and chew on the gummy. It comes in different flavours too. I tried it, quite tasty, like sweet, so kids should like it.
