ahhh thanks! remember when i was in jc, my classmate was from marymount. hahaha must be that long ago!ghostz:
talking about marymount convent, when did the sec school close down? anyone knows? i can't believe that it couldn't sustain a sec school.
The secondary school was closed down years ago, maybe 15, 20 years ago? -

Not very sure about Kheng Cheng but it is definitely easier to get in than Pei Chun!Mermaid:
Hi,
I've read through the thread and found questions of parents asking on Kheng Cheng's performance. However, there no replies. My in laws are staying right in front of Kheng Cheng and by using their address, I presume it will be easier to get into Kheng Cheng than Pei Chun, even though we will still be under phase 2C 1km-2km for both schools.
Does anyone know about Kheng Cheng?
Hi, does anyone have any feedback on Kheng Cheng school? I went to the website and found out the top scorer for 2008 PSLE was 272 and 5th scorer was 258. I understand from the neighbours that the school had improved over the last few years ever since a change of the school principle. I like the one session schooling that Kheng Cheng can offer. If not, I will go ahead to choose Yangzheng Pri at Serangoon which is within 1km from my house.
Can anyone who has info or experience with Kheng Cheng school share with me? Or has anyone done any comparison between Kheng Cheng and Yangzheng at Serangoon? -
Hi,
I would like to ask about Maris Stella Primary School. Does anyone have any comments to share? Does it have after-school care? (I believe someone asked this before too :D)
Thank you! -
Hi I am a Catholic and hence will get into Phase 2 B into CHIJ. However I have OLGC nearby. But I want TP. Will they give me adm in TP if I go as a Catholic under 2B

Sorry what u mean by TP? CHIJ (Toa Payoh) ?? It depends on how far u stay from the school and how many applicants vs vacancies there are for the year u are registering in. For the last 2 yrs, CHIJ (TPY) balloted under phase 2B for those staying out of 2km. -
Luanee:
Yes TP means CHIJ (TP). I stay at Serangoon and surely out of 2 km. Hence even though I am Catholic, they will put me under the balloting phase or ask me to go to CHIJ (OLGC). thanks for the replyMajella:

They wont ask u to go CHIJ (OLGC). U have to make that decision urself. Note that should you decide to ballot for CHIJ (TP) under phase 2B and unsuccessful, u would lose your priority registration chance under phase 2B for CHIJ (OLGC). U then have to compete with the rest under phase 2C for CHIJ (OLGC) which typically balloted for 1-2km in this phase (vs no balloting under 2B). -

Thanks Luanee for the reply. That is why I am quite worried. Do you know of Cedar...hear there is no balloting in 2C there. If not stick to CHIJ OLGC as no balloting. Only think Cedar is co-education and that sounds intresting. thanksMajella:

Yeap there was no balloting in Cedar under 2C for the past 2 yrs. However I think the school is quite small (only 150 places for P1 compared to other schools 300+). And I think the school premises are quite old too. Maybe u should go down to take a look urself.
Since there are 2 days for 2B registration, probably u can go down on the second day to CHIJ (TP) to check whether balloting is required or not. If yes and u do not want to take the chance, then just go over to CHIJ (OLGC) and register there (assuming no balloting under 2B for the latter school). Else u can take the chance to ballot in CHIJ(TP) and settle for Cedar should u fail.
