      smallfly:
      Hi,

My daughter is due for Primary 1 registeration next July and I am living in Ang Mo Kio. Ai Tong and St. Nicholas are too competitive for me because me and my husband are not their ex-students. I will prefer my daughter to go to a all-girls school. Any other good schools for recommendation?

      Thank you.

      Rdgs,

Unfortunately, the remaining schools in Ang Mo Kio are all co-ed.

        Hi Chief,

Thanks for your reply. Actually, there is CHIJ-our lady of good counsel in Ang Mo Kio which is a all-girl school. But there are some negative comments in this forum about that school so I will not be sending my daughter there. In your opinion, which is the best co-ed school beside Ai Tong near Ang Mo Kio?

        Thank you.

        Rdgs,

CHIJ our Lady of good counsel is not in AMK but near to Serangoon Garden.

You might wish to consider Marymount Convent which is an all girls school but then it’s not a popular school.

why is Anderson so popular in AMK? It is because it has an English name, like CHIJ SNGS; also very popular in AMK.

Is Townsville Primary good? I intend to try for it if the balloting for Kuo Chuan is unsuccessful.

                        Hi parents,

Just to share something here. I checked the internet last night and found out that Zhonghua has a new principal this year Mr BUcktha Seela who was formerly principal for Tanjong Katong Pr for 7 years (there was an appeal fr the parents there to extend his appt) so I am sure he must be a good principal and judging by his track record there.

I went down to check on the school today and also hv a chat with him and was very impressed. He is revamping the school both in the areas of sports and academics. His programme not only tailor to the bright but also weaker students. He is the on the ball type of principal as he will sit through the class once a week to review the teachers and he works very closely with the parents. Quite confident the school will grow under his care in a year or two.

So don't judge a school by their popularity. It's good to talk to the principals and get to know them and their approach.
