If it gets really severe, can bring her to dermatologist & get her tested for allergies.
There’s a whole lot of things that can trigger eczema… even stress.
It might be the food that she’s eating, clothing, dust, drooling due to teething etc. etc.

Thanks. Now she had recovered already. THe doctor told me must apply more moisturizer on her body as eczema is caused by dryness of skin.

I also very careful of what she eats.

Hii all my 6 year old boy has been scratching himself all over and tiny tiny red bumps have formed from the neck to his thighs.. he cant sleep well in the nights vos of the itchiness. I brought him to Kids Link and was given a lotion to apply ,,it wasnt so good so I brought him to NUH..he was given some aqueous cream to apply..i did so ,he was alright for a few days and the rashes became worse... i dont know if I should bring him back to NUH or somewhere else ? Can anyone advise ?

I think u have to bring him back to the doctor to find out what is causing the eczema. It could be some food allergy or some things that he is allergic to. They would have to run some test to determine it.

For example, my son was allergic to eggs and malt. Whenever, he eats those food, he will start to scratch. So we try to avoid giving him.

Also, some shower foam could further irritate the skin. You may wish to stop using them for the time being. And also some lotion/creams can make it worse.

Lastly, instead of using the shower gels, use oats instead. It always work for my son as it stops the itchiness and also soothes the skin.

You can get the organic oats from the supermarket. Wet the body and start rubbing the oats all over. If you don;t want to get messy, put the pats in a handkerchief and tie it up and then rub all over the body.

Tiny red bumps sound like hives instead. They're called Urticaria: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urticaria


I have them and it's like a rash that comes and goes and is very itchy.
It may be caused by something your child is allergic to. For example, for my DD, it used to be insect bites and for me, it's dust.

I think it's best to confirm what it is exactly before you start buying lots of creams and stuff.

If the Paediatrician doesn't help,why not try gg to the National Skin Centre.
I myself is still suffering from Eczema for years... and my doc told me that actually children are more prone to have it rather then adults...
A Skin specialist will be able to diagnose better and advance med will be given for your child.

I agree with cookie77cookie. After seeing GP for a few times on different occasions for my DD’s red, itchy bumps, and receiving various creams for it, there was still no improvement. So in the end, we made an appt at the National Skin Centre. The specialist there diagnosed that my DD was suffering from hives brought about by insect bites. After receiving another cream for it which actually worked, we set about to prevent the problem from happening to reduce the occurrence of hives. Seeing the specialist was expensive but really worth it.
