Tok’s school bus service…after 4-5 months service, suddenly a change in bus route.

We chose Yangzhen because it is near our place, within 2.4km and logistic is fine. Used to come home at 620pm, now Tok re-routed and she comes home at 7pm! Bus fare increased from 60 to 100 dol.

Tok bus service is rendering a ‘you take it or leave it’ service. What will you parents do? Any suggestion? Thanks

        That sounds bad...

I'll see if we need to switch to this. Just been told that YZPS in 2012 will still have two sessions (P1-2 pm; P3-6 am)... DS will go to P1 next year. was hoping can become single session so that DS and DD can go and comb back together... now no chance.

It didn't release information for the number of students results & breakdown. Just a mention of above national average. The recent open house on 22nd June was attended by quite a few eager parents. Few were asking for results but the principal kept mum. Good or bad? if good results like nanyang sure sound the gong to let the whole Singapore know about it.
The funny schedule of wonderful Wednesday's must be changed but no avail. Maybe a change of current principal will improve the school destiny.

By the way, the school comparable in age to nanyang 1917 or acs 1887. Yangzheng was established in 1906.

Once you recce the web, you find no results avail since this current principal took over.

I think the board should voice their anger at the academic performance as it in turn will attract good students & it’s alumni to send their kids back there.

Dun you find it odd that the P1 and P2 school hours are odd, with school starting around 11+ am and on Wed, they have change their biological clocks to being up really early.

Ask the children and parents around and many would agree that the children have sort of have brunch cos’ too early to eat lunch - children cannot eat fast! Imagine having brunch when they are in their developing years!!!

Just wonder how many schools in Singapore have such wierd hours? Is children the top priority of the school?

I expect yangzheng to have balloting for 2c. Despite weird hours, people are trying to get in.

I got my DD into YZPS for P1 in 2012 under 2A yesterday.

                        I looked around the school:
                        - the compound is not too big, but of reasonable size.
                        - kids playing and running around waiting for their afternoon badminton session, their behavior seems ok.
                        - when I talked to a couple of staff, they sound friendly and helpful.
                        - understand that they have no firm date for the single session, reducing the no. of classes for P1 is probably getting ready for this.
                        - with the reduction of one class (30 seats) for next year, seats may be tighter for phase 2C as the previous 2 years there are only 6 (yr 2010) and 7 (yr 2009) left for phase 2C Supp.
                        - the school has been reducing the no. of class in the past years, if they do so again in 2013, the school might have to do ballot for phase 2c, i guess.
                        - I happened to talk to another parent registering for her son, she showed me her daughter (graduated and now in RGS) PSLE results (I did not get to see the year) at 271. She commented the quality of her teachers is very good… (of course, if not how to get such high scores)
