I would recommend staying near Kent Street. Very convenient to most places of interest (within walking distances). Walmart shopping mall and subway train station going to the Central Stn are nearby too.

        But not near beaches.

Darling Harbour is very beautiful at night with those lights.

On our last night in Sydney, there was a fireworks display at Darling Harbour-simply spectacular. We had no idea what the celebration was for  Maybe Christmas season?

There is a foodcourt style eating place if you do not want to dine at the pricey restaurant. This bldg (foodcourt at lvl 1, some shops at lvl 2) has a ice cream parlour. We did not eat any ice cream when we were there. The weather was too cold.

Do checkout the ferry rides timing. Wont recommend the taxi ferry rides if the children are not used to boat rides- water can be quite choppy when the taxi ferry speeds along.

There is a public toilet near the bridge. If you miss this public toilet and walk down further away from the Aquarium and need to use the toilet, you will need to walk back to this toilet.

There is a Chinese Friendship Gdn (exact location I cant remember, only recall it is at the farthest end of Darling Harbour). Next to this Gdn, there is a ferries wheel. Not very tall, but good enough to see some distance. Not too expensive. Got time table to follow.

            Enjoy the hols.

Hi, I will be travelling to Sydney in early Aug.

As I am bringing my 3 year old DD with me, i like to find out if we can bring medicine to standy by. I heard that they have pretty strict rules on what we can bring and not to bring into Australia. Hence, I am worried if medicine is ok? whether i need to get any certification from doctor?

We will be staying at Novotel Darling Harbour, i will be going for conference for the first 3 days, hence i think my hubby will bring her around the area to look see.

subseuqently, we rented a car, aiming to go Tangaroo zoo for one day and still not sure what else to do…

We will then move on to Hunter Valley for a 3 days 2 nights stay…

                      Sydney, NSW Australia

I just went to Sydney of Australia during October 2011 (after PSLE). It was a very fun place. It's good if you want your children to have close interaction with animals, and get up close with the Aussie kangaroos and koalas.

Many sightseeing places are available there too. Like the Blue Mountains of Katoomba etc.

Singapore to Sydney airplane duration takes about 7.5 hours.
The temperature during summer is around 22 degrees Celsius.

However, be warned. The expenses there are EXTREMELY high compared to Singapore.

Park your car in the CBD Area of Sydney for 2 hours and you will be charged AU$36 (SGD$50)

A simple meal of Macdonalds could cost AU$26 (SGD$40).

Nevertheless, if you are off-budget, Sydney is a good place to visit :celebrate:

If it is western medication than is should be fine, common chinese medication like pozhaiyun is fine as long as they are not herbs.

You can consider going to Blue Mountains, rather far from the City but its worth the trip. But do be careful if you are driving up as you will basically be driving along the mountain side with no barriers.

There is this restaurant which you must definitely go to when you are in Sydney it is underneath the Habour bridge, i think that place is call \"The Rocks\" it is a weekend flea market and the restaurant is called \"Pancake on the rocks\".

Bondi beach is nice if you mind your DH oggling at babes suntanning nude. 😄

Also you can visit some factory outlets to buy branded aussie products like billabong. Not sure what is the name of the factory outlet i went to, but it is right by the river.
