Thanks Mincy! I saw your post on SparkleTots Alex and am considering to send my kid there. Will be visiting the centre coming Jan. Looking for someplace affordable to get the kid tuned to the academic environment in primary schools.

hi ,
it had been months since the review …
any updates ? thinking of sending my 19 month old there for a half day session -
did not place my kid there cos hubby complains too out of the way in terms of dropping and picking the kids off. Mincy’s kid is there and she had good reviews, so it is good to visit and worth a try…

I think u might want to check it out and see how you feel about the place. When I enrolled my boy, the toddler class is still quite new and there are not much children for his class.
One of my friends who visited recently told me he find it rather crowded. For my boy, he is still happy in his school and we already have good relationship with his teachers who have been with him since toddler so we are still comfortable there. -
My son was at Sparkletots @ telok blangah from 18 months-3years before we shifted. I think the centre was quite organized and the teachers my son had were very caring and responsible.

Hi Kiasu parents,
Anyone has kids with SparkletTots Telok Blangah? I am on waiting list for my boy. Any good or bad feedback? -
i’m checking sparkletots at queenstown cc and they told me that they do not make milk for tots. only provide fernleaf milk and feed by cup.
but is fernleaf ok for tots and they are still too young to stop their baby fomula milk… any feedback ? -
when my boy was 18 months, I bring my own milk powder and bottle for the first few months. However, it is only temporary until he learn to eat solid food.
I thought that was okay, as my boy seems to start eating the same food as we do after that. Makes things much easier for us. -
thanks for the feedback! in terms of activities, do they have outdoor activity? I heard the pond and garden are no longer there since they are renovating the place…
my boy is quite active and love outdoor activities…
any phonics classes for tots? -
peobe,
I put my son in Alexandra Sparkletots the moment he turned 18 months.
The reason that the centre does not encourage milk bottle feeding mainly the Principal thinks the teachers will be too busy washing milk bottles all the time. Another reason could be training the little ones to drink from cup.
If you're concerned about the milk they are serving, you can bring your own FM and ask the teacher /assistant to make the milk in cup for your tot. They still allow bottle the first few days/weeks though.
Outdoors :
The kids get a lot of outdoor times : once in the morning between 10-11am, balls, kiddy rides, bubbles, walking round the premise - upstairs, basketball court and round the building. The other round in the afternoon after tea break, 4-5pm.
The pond was demolished due to mozzies.
You can snap a picture of the daily schedule posted at the front notice board to have a better understanding of what you child will be doing.
Phonics for toddler class:
You might want to check with the teachers/principal. From what i observed, age of toddlers ranging from 18mth to 2yr+ in the class, most of the time teachers and assistants busy calming down the crying ones (especially beginning of the month), teachers use songs and stories to get the toddlers' attention. They do get a lot of free plays with toys & books too.
The principal Ms Ho is very involved in the toddler class, especially when there are new comers; she'll arrange impromptu activities when there are a number of cry-babies (it's contagious for kids this age, mentioned of 'mummy' can even trigger it!)
Gosh! Do I sound like working for them?
