Me too...but i don't have dds....
The nearest school we qualified for <1km is CHIJ (Our Lady of Queen Peace). Guess that's where we'll register our gal 2 years from now.

Well... what are u waiting for, jedamum? Go initiate that project already! -

Good that you are within 1km for CHIJ. As for Bukit Timah, my nephew and niece are there.
Hi Little_Princesses_lnK
How are your niece & nephew in Bukit timah primary ? Can give some feedbacks on this school if possible ? Would appreciate very much. Thanks. -

Although he loves to have a dd to doll up, my husband said he probably cannot take the heartache
of walking his precious princess down the wedding aisle when the time comes.

Well...all I can say is that my sister in law has given up on the school and she provides strong back up through private tuition by currrent school teachers. Spends quite a bit on it. So sorry if this upsets you but I didnt want to hide the truth.Little_Princesses_LnK:

Great to hear the negative side of the school. Most people I spoke to have good words about the school. But I think it's always good to be prepared for the negative stuff as well.

Care to elaborate a little more on your sister's disappointment? Is it b'cos the teachers aren't caring enough? Or there isn't much support for the average learners at school? I heard that BTPS gives more attention and support to the 2 best classes. Is that true? Or perhaps, your sister's kids found the school work non-challenging?
As for engaging external help for academics, I think it's not just BTPS alone. Most primary school kids I know have strong external enrichments or parent coaching/support. Yup, from neighbourhood schools to \"prestigious\" schools such as NYPS, ACS etc... Nowadays, it's a norm that parents have to \"study\" with their kids too or send them for enrichments. Perhaps, this is the result of \"teach less BUT learn more\" approach? :?
Don't worry if you have only negative stuff to share about the school. I feel it's good for parents whose kids are going there to be mentally prepared for any weaknesses the school has.

Wow, your husband really thinks far! Hmm, how about thinking the marriage as gaining another 'son'? Most sons-in-law are very nice to their in laws. Worth giving that a thought har?ChiefKiasu:
