[Jurong West] Primary Schools

I meant a lot of new family staying nearby the school:)

Dec:
Just check what is the difference between the new school and the established school? What is the Risk??
Hi Dec,
I agreed with Kabby reply on the risk involved.
Just to share my 20 cent worth
1) CCA not confirmed yet. What happen if your child like none of the offered CCA
2) Outsourced after school care - not too sure is this a good thing. i look at it like HDB's DBSS scheme. Bell and whistle with a permium
3) New means experiment, Will the 1st batch be guiena pig i.e what was taught in 2012 for P1 will be diffient from P1 for 2013 onwards.
on the flip side
1) The Principal is able to assemble his own All Star Cast rather that teacher being assigned by MOE. I think this is encouraging.
2) The PSLE result for the 1st batch will be the report card for this school. I hope extra effort will be put in to make the 1st batch a success.
Cheers -

It depends on your home distance to school and which phase of registration do you fall underHi all,
I'm deciding whether to go for Jurong Pri or Frontier Pri. Any advice?
Thanks!
for Phase 2B & 2C and within 1 KM,I place my bet on JPS and let nature take its course.
other then that, forget about JPS -
ya superdat, CCA is another concern. thanks for pointing that out. i need to make a proper list cos i keep forgetting some point now and again.
thanks RRmummy! you're so funny, you made me laugh.

Champion, may i know what makes you choose CPS ?

Hi LKVM, itโs Jurong Primary at jurong east.
Hi superdat, for JPS, its phase 2A2. but the school is further away from my place. Frontier Primary is very very near my place, Iโm not a grassroots member, so phase 2C. And I know friends wanting to enroll their kids at frontier primary too.
Still canโt decideโฆ -
hi there i am very stress now donโt know wat is the best i am living vry near to xingnan pri. jus next to it actually. but heard that west grove is better at least more popular. will be like 1-2 km catergory. thinking of trying my luck on west grove but anyone can advise. wat if l lose in the balloting and risk myself losing xingnan chance and end up to the undesirable ones.

Hi! May I share my point of view here?Hi LKVM, it's Jurong Primary at jurong east.

Still can't decide...
If you get into JPS at Phases 2A2, go for it! :rahrah: :rahrah: JPS is a very well-established school over at JE area so usually comes Phase 2C, it only for favorable for children staying within <1km! :yikes: Of course, the travelling distance will be further and maybe you like to check out the school-bus facilities...Oh yes, I think JPS still operates under the system of P1,3,5 - Afternoon session and P2,4,6 Morning session  ...
This is just my 2 cents worth of opinion :boogie: -

Hi ocean33,
May I share my view here? Hope to \"de-stress\" you abit...
Xingnan Primary is a well-established school in JW area; did you attend their open-house? If you are <1km under Phase 2C, try your luck there 1st! :rahrah: From the past history - West grove is definitely having balloting over at phase 2C - and it more favorable towards those staying within <1km...and that radius already covers big areas because there are too many housing flats surrounding that school!
Above is just purely my own opinion
