hi bud, thanks for the hot water tips. In fact, once I was feeling uncomfortable during the first day and my dd told me to use hot water bag.
cluelessmom, don't worry, you are not the only mummy that behaves like that. We always thought our girls are still babies. Slowly, you would get use, you need time ...
I have to keep reminding my girl to use facial soap every morning, and before sleep. She is using neutrogena, fragrance free. I tried so many types but since this is most suitable for her. She has no pimples, but black head on the nose and those tiny oily seeds on the forehead. The body shop hot mineral mask seem to work OK for her black heads. I just apply on her nose and her forehead, once a week or once in every two weeks. -

Hey daisyt, so sweet ur ger ....... kekeke yeah will check out the body shop mineral mask for my DH instead  -
thnks cluelessmom for recommending neutrogena, I will certainly give it a try. Well, at least ur grl is 10 yrs old, mine just turned nine this year. My mum also started her on chicken since nursery days. I knew abt chicken and all that homone stuff but never gave it a second thought as there was nothing else that she wantedto eat. I used to take her to wisma and taka after school to eat chicken rice at least 4 tmes a week for 3 yrs plus my mum cooks chicken and insist she consume the essence.
I pray that her period wont come so soon, thats my greatest fear now. -

Hi Moonee, there is nothing to fear about. Just tell yourself, your girl has grown up.
I have a friend, the daughter still has no period at the age of 17. After thorough check up, nothing wrong. I think, this is rather worried for the mum.
BTW, anyone heard about the cervical cancer jab ? My clinic doctor and gynea recommend me to get my girl to jab. I wonder if anyone here has done that for their girls. -
If you freak out, it will be even harder for your daughter to handle anything because she can sense your loss and fear. She may even think that puberty is something devastating because "if my mum is reacting this way, and she is a grown woman… omg, it must be a horrible process!"
Always be tactful but utterly honest with your kids. Lay it out for her factually and with emotional support. You’ll be surprised at how much they can handle (and how much youths really crave honesty from adults) -

Hi fluffie, for beginners, their flow are heavy, its quite common. She can try try those extra long night use, Lauria 34 cm for day and night use on the first few heavy flow days. You can also buy those panties that have a \"plastic\" lining to prevent overflow stain. Another method you could try to put on her bed, those baby plastic mat (we use to put on babies' bed to minimise wetting). Cover with a thin towel because the plastic mat can feel quite cold if sleeping in air con room. Hope this help.

Thanks Daisy. may i know where to get the ‘plastic’ panties pls?. tks

OK, I can see you are very very very new here.
Bluebelt is not my nick, its a kind of status. Different colour of denotes the number of post you have posted. My nick is daisyt.
You can try CK department stall or Metro ... My mum bought from CK department stall at Chinatown there. -
Like to add on to daisyt, you can get bed liners from pharmacies like Guardian/Unity. Its those that they use in hospitals after you deliver or when they are doing dressing of wounds/etc. If you are comfortable with her using a tampon, just use it with the xtra long maxi pads.
If the menses is heavy as well as very painful accompanied by nausea, vomiting, dizzy spells, particularly just prior to or during the period or after, should see a gynae to rule out Endometriosis.
Hope this info is useful
