aah... if you don't mind me asking, why beacon and not bpps or the other schools? im still undecided which school, that's why i die die must go to all pri sch open hses in bp.


someone i know who works at one of the schools ard bp told me westspring is an underdog school. the principal very fierce. but i still want to check them out. hubby said their banners outside their school pretty impressive. alot of 'gold honors /gold/ silver' words. When i asked gold silver for what activity, hubby shrugged, said he only saw the gold silver words nothing else. :rotflmao:

BPPS too difficult to get in because school around for long time, sure a lot of competition in P2A (parents or siblings from the school), and they have alot of PVs for P2B. I'm not within 1km so sure no chance for the school.
I give Beacon a try because of the IT concept, think my DD will learn better with interest. The curriculum is still the same as other local schools, not that they focus solely on IT. Who knows, I may eventually try Greenridge which is nearer, but will be P2C coz I am not a PV there.

By the end of P2C, West View is only half filled, can tell how unpopular it is in this area. I know some kids from there, didn’t have good PSLE results. That’s why I find it hard to have confidence in the school.

i think im the only ex student of bpps who isn't taken in by my pri school's popularity. and i'm wondering why they don't see the need to hold an open house. and most importantly, why are they very popular. i feel just because they are an old school doesn't necessary make them the right school to put our kids in. But that's just me lah ah. :boogie:

beacon's open house is only 2 hours? so short ah. hmmm will try to make it.

anyone know when is that all girl school at bt timah open house? chij isit?

I went to Zheng hua primary school. 3 of my friends like it. But personally, how to say... I didn't feel 'the chemistry'. Hahaha So I think it's really a matter of personal preference lah...


When I went there, the school was quite crowded and a bit messy. Some teachers attentive, some are not. But the students show good confidence to approach us & to give demo n explanation. I also impress with their artworks.

If you are within 1km or even 1-2km, you can try. i think therebis good chance you can get in. If not you can fall back on BUkit Timah Pri. I am out of 2km so am more nervous...

you have to look at a few factors:-
1) bpps will likely to have balloting within 1km for phase 2c. what about chij? which school do you have a higher chance?
2) do you have another younger boy who may have benefitted if the elder sis go into bpps?
3) do you want to leverage on chij's affiliation to its secondary school?
