I am glad I found someone who thinksthe same way as me rgdg top schs. I wonder why many fail to see that the schs r top because they have all the gifted stdents.not becos they hv super teachers or curriculum. If we put all the gep classes into guangyang, gy will also be top sch. All the time n money that goes into getting priority status seems a bit wasteful when u realise the sch is not perfect.

Exactly! These GEP programme has made some of the top school's figures look better, while most people don't realise that some of these top students in these schools are actually came from the neighbourhood schools. It's kind of unfair as people don't realise how much efforts neighbourhood teachers have put in for these childs in the early phase of their education life!

      National interest takes precedent.

        Totally agree.

And also these "top" schools have super kiasu parents who send their kids to all sorts of enrichment classes so at the end of the day, are these enrichment classes making the kids do well and not so much good teachers at these so-called top schools?

My sister works at a neighbourhood school and she says they have to work doubly hard compared to teachers at the top schools cos most students under their care have no means for enrichment classes so they have to make sure all kids are up to speed and no child gets left behind.

I’ve PV at so called popular school and have really seen the kids that get left behind. It is very sad and does nothing for their self-esteem.

apart from MOE, where to get statistics pupils from which neighbourhood schools enter GEP programme or Top schools ? if can disclose, then we know which are the neighbourhood schools.

Is it really the case that because some schools dun have GEP classes/ facilities that their students have to be transferred out to GEP schools, ended up, these neighbourhood schools have no GEP students left to boost their results. :?

If these GEP students stay put at their schools, would it increase the schools 'reputation'?

Does it mean that if a child is GEP, then the PSLE result would be top? :?

For Ai Tong <1km, chance at 2B is around 35-40% and chance at 2C likely to be about 20-25%.

I was no. 51 😄 We were at the school by 2pm and just sat outside the office undecided what to do. 40% chance at AT vs 100% chance at KCPPS. Anyway I just felt the dd will be happier at AT so going for it. Think my head has to be examined

Now praying that Fri balloting will be successful
