I got lots of questions, but one by one. Ok, the first question is, how much you will give to your kid for pocket money? my hubby said prepare some snacks for him and $0.30 daily. He said \"LAST TIME\" he only got snacks & without any pocket money until secondary school.

haha, he very funny leh....last time 10cent can buy a bowl of noodles but now cannot liao. It will be good to let him join in his friend to buy food that he want to eat during recess rather than packing his food everyday. You can find out how much is the food at the school and perhap give him extra 20-30cents and teach him to save up for the balance. My sister gives her son $0.80 everyday for food when they are P1 and they learn to save up for their pocket money and use their saving to buy own stationery and sweets.

Yup! LAST few years when i was teaching in YTPS, one bowl of mee was about $0.50. So i think i will give him $0.80 without snacks and maybe $0.40 with snacks.

My friend told me that his son primary school (in Boon Lay) was using Ez-Link card to buy food and this is definitely not good as they can anyhow buy things and it is not possible to keep $0.80 in the Ez Link card daily. OK, now the benchmark is $0.80.

Oh no, using E-link card to buy food is a bad idea for children...they will take it that it is like a credit card and parents will just top up when there is no value in it . I can imagine in the end they will buy more things from the bookstore like pencils, eraser etc....

I am back. Life still goes on... πŸ˜‰
Yesterday also went to check out Kranji PS, website but not much info. Only know that they are very good in basketball, but too bad my girl not the athlete type....like mommy.

I hope will not have another round of ballot....I'll have heart attack...

Huh, pocket money $0.80/day. Tot of giving $1.50. Think must revise the amount.

Hi Honeybeel, believe you will stand a good chance if you stay within 2km from Kranji Primary. Why not call up the school and check with history statistics for phrase 2c supplementary. I think most ppl who got balloted out at SV will most likely goes to CCk Primary or Teck Whye bah...assuming balance fm Unity, DLS and YT goes to Kranji, still have vacancies balance for phrase 3.

I think max $1 lah, $1.50 is abit too much to let them handle money for a start unless she stays back after school. If given too much to handle, she could ended up buying all sorts of cute eraser, pencils, books from the bookstore  . Gal mah will shop more on stationery than buying food in my personal opinion.

quite high now & the food is really 'miserable'....like kway teow
soup with ONE fishball & ONE piece fishcake....and cost $0.50!
really now $$$ very small value..... also scared my kiddo don't
eat enough as he quite big eater esp when hungry.....

In fact my hubby & i everyday \"ta pau\" home make lunch to company. For my hubby, he used to do it since young as he is fr a poor family and for me i really sick of outside food already, some more want to \"keep fit\", if i lunch outside sure i will try my best to finish all the food, but if prepare by my own, at least i can control the quantity & save money also. Yes, LAST few years when I was teaching in YTPS, $0.50 only for Kueh Teow soup with one piece of fish cake & one fish ball. It is definitely not enough for my boy as he can eats 3 roti prates for breakfast and one plate of chicken rice for lunch.

When talk about β€œkeep fit”, how many KG u gain & still with you after giving birth? For me, still have 10KG.  luckly i not so short, so still look like M size, but promoting to L size. :?:

There are total 29 (DLS), 28 (YT) & 30 (Unity) disappointed parents, if all of them go to Kranji PS, there will still have some balance seats, don worry. For those who fail in SV balloting, i guess they all stay beyond 1KM fr Kranji PS (logically). I noticed that they will not have much choices as Concord PS & CCK PS only left about 4-10 seats only, at the end they have to go to Teck Whye PS, Kranji PS (beyond 1KM) or outside CCK. Honeybeel will have high chance (i can see for sure) than those who is out fr SV.
