Why buy when you can just borrow, right?

The library has sets of these readers called
My Phonics Friends. (If i got that right...)

Nice illustrations with bigger than usual books
fonts. Easy story line to follow. And the only
thing here is it is not even necessary to teach
the letter sounds here. Just add more emphasis
on each sound while reading the book through..

Great for children who are into the single letter
sounds. This book should provide reinforcement
        for phonemic awareness.

As usual, buds has sample pages for you guys. 😄

PULL AND LEARN PHONICS series written by Sue Graves

and beautifully illustrated by Gustavo Mazali is a fantastic
buy @ only S$5.90! Yet again, another nice buy from my
              reliable Popular Bookstore. 😉

These books provide fun reading for children who are at
the 3-letter words stage. It offers reinforcement on the
word families the children have learnt from their Phonics
lessons. The books aren't 100% decodable. ie. There will
be some sight words that parents/caregivers may require
to assist the children with... simple sight words. 😄

Each of the books focuses on a different vowel sound.
Encourage your child to read the book with you, find
the matching words on the tabs at the side of the book.
Ask them to sound out/read the word and pull the tab
to see if they were right!

5 titles available for this Pull & Learn Phonics series.
I honestly hope they come up with more! 😉

There's another book not shown here.

              (5)Rod and the cod.

As always, buds will have sample pages for you..
These are from the book titled :- Pat and the bat.

As these books are only thick paperback material (cover page),
should be suitable for children of 4 years old and above. Below
that age, parents to supervise... for longer lifespan of the books. 😉

                  Hi buds

I have managed to find Ladybird Phonics game cards at Popular. Was so happy. Tried to find PULL AND LEARN PHONICS series at Popular Toa Payoh but the SA said that they only sell during roadshows. May I know which branch did you buy the books? Hope I can still able to get it.

                  Thanks for your recommendation.

                      Heyya maltbibi!

                      Good you found the cards.
So, tried it yet? 😉 My
elder girl uses it to practise
                      with my younger... 😉
She plays with it, just like
how i played with her when
she was learning to read a
                      few years ago. 😄

As for the Pull & Learn books
i definitely did not get mine
                      from roadshow. It was bought
at the store itself... but right now
i cannot put my finger on whether
it was at BPP (Bt Panjang Plaza or
at Lot 1 Shoppers Mall..

                      But during the Popular roadshows,
i usually can get quite good books
at good price! Especially since i have
time to slowly dig out the good stuff. 😉

Wow, I got two of those years ago at those temporary book stalls that you sometimes see. My DD simply loved them (but I didn't know these are great for learning phonics - blur me!). Would love to buy the rest if someone could tell me where to get them. By the way, don't think I have seen them at United Sq's Popular.

By the way, think Popular should pay buds advertisement fees liao. 😉
