thank you all for the advice…have registered my girl with lianhua…will think about our next steps in a few weeks after the excitement and suspense have settled…hahhaa

yasui1210,
have you made your choice?
in any case, my guess that Lianhua is popular with koreans is because some of them are just staying in the 2 condominium beside the school. then through expat networking, that may be how majority of them ended in Lianhua.
are there any schools within 1km from your school?
my take is that if staying >1km from Princess E, St Anthony or Keming, the other schools in Bukit Batok is relatively very regular. you may just want to look at what CCAs they offer (Bukit View’s emphasis is on asthetics, Lianhua’s Robotics, Dazhong and Hongkah i’m not sure as they seem quite low profile small school). -

how popular is Princess Elizabeth? Seems like there is a huge demand for it. Thinking of sending my kid there next year.

It's an old school, well established. That's why around 50% of the seats has been taken at the earlier stage. Yes, huge demand for it. Can check from MOE website here: http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/vacancies/#bukit-batok
If you're keen on sending your kid there, perhaps you can check w/ the school whether they hv PV scheme. (volunteering) so you can apply on stage 2B. -

to qualify for PEPS phase 2B, you have to go grassroots. they don't accept PV.benten2011:

My guess:
- Keming is surrounded by high-rise residential blocks, such as blks 288 - 291, and the Dew.
- It is easily accessible by public buses, compared to Bukit View and LianHua.
- Its top PSLE student last year - 276.
