All about Transferring to Other Primary Schools

insider:
Thanks insider and qms :salute:A SAP primary school was right in front of my new house. I walked into the school and knocked on the office's door and told the clerk that I wanted to transfer my daughter there... She asked me reason of transfer and I told her shifted to next to school... Then I got to transferred my daughter over smoothly.
Go try your luck in the school of your choice in person...
This sounds v encouraging.
I will definitely try this in person when the move is completed. -
Hi,
Can anyone let me know what is the possibility of getting into a primary based on wait list? I was unsuccessful in getting into a school of my choice in the Primary 1 registration and is now waiting for MOE to do the posting. So stressful. -

Hi!
I don't think anybody can answer this question. Do you know how many schools there are in Singapore?
Granted we know which school you are targetting, I don't think even the staff in the school can answer this question either. Too much permutations.
One thing for sure is, if you put your child's name in the waiting list, the probability of him/her getting into the school is > 0%. If you don't put your child in the waiting list, probability = 0% -

there is still Phase 3, which is first come first serve. Closing date is 28AugHi,

Hi Tankee!
I think she is more interested in getting her child into the school of her choice, hence asking about the probability of getting into the school if she is in the waiting list. -

Yes, she's waiting for MOE's posting. But ultimately, she wants to send her child to the school of her choice. That's why she asked \"what is the possibility of getting into a primary based on wait list\". She wants to (or has already done so) put her child's name in the waiting list, but is curious what is the probability her child can get into the school just by putting her name in the list.
Or, rather, that's how I interpret. Maybe I am wrong. -
my point is
While trying to get into the choice school via the waiting list, she should still register under phase 3 instead of waiting for MOE to do the post-phase 3 posting. -

Actually, I don't see any difference in the schools the MOE assigns and the ones available for Phase 3.my point is

Parents need to indicate 3 schools which they would like MOE to post their children to. Even if it is in Phase 3, they will most likely go to these 3 schools.
What's more, you don't have to compete with the foreigners in Phase 3 by leaving it to MOE to assign a school for you. -

I thought foreigners can only apply to MOE schs in Phase 3? :?
