hi jiyou2003, my daughter was poor in english when she ws in k2, she didnt read much story books, her phoenics was poor, during the last term in k2, I signed her into I Can Read at goldhill branch, I find their method of teaching rather effective. you will need english in order to do maths and science, without english yr child cant understand maths when it comes to problem sums. U could also give him speech and drama classes to get him interested in english.
Regarding t.b power camp , i have not yet attended it cos i found out abt it when it was over, but the feedback i get from other parents is good and i will definitely sign my grl up during the november holidays* -
Thank you moonee. I will look oput for their Nov program.
In his childcare cente, there is option for speech n drama which we enrol him but after a short while, he request mummy to withdraw. so he is not the "acting" guys. He is more on drawing. -

I may try out my son with the http://www.tonybuzan.edu.sg/index.php/courses/creative-writing-with-mind-maps/ during his March '08 holidays for $200. If I see results, then maybe we will go for the Power Learning Camp in June '08.

What did they do in class during the 5 days creative writing workshop?
Can your children continue to apply what they learnt in their essay writing in primary school?
Thanks for sharing your experience

I use his books to teach my students to use mindmap to remember & link science concepts. Some higher ability students were able to use it for their composition without me teaching explicitly. All I said was that they could use mindmaps to plan their compos

If it is Tony Buzan himselfโฆ I am certain it will be spectacular.
I met him at a conference back in UK and he does talk like he writes. -

My P2 son joined their P3 class and I think he benefitted from it. He had a good Indian teacher. He enjoyed it and felt that he learnt something. He is also able to draw mindmaps after that. His classmate from the same pri sch joined their P2 class but it seems like the lessons are too easy and the students are not really taught how to mindmap. The lessons also include a lot of time-wasting activities like colouring and decorating the name-tag etc. So after the 5th day, his classmate still did not know how to draw a mindmap.Hi hi

By the way, the center allows your boy to skip one level to join P3 class? -
Hi. Anybody know if there is any holiday class for P2 on mind mapping? I heard this is a good technique for Science. Is thinking of letting my DS1 learn this during Nov/Dec holiday so as to prepare him for P3 next year. Kiasu mother lah. Thanks!
