Should burning of incense papers be banned in HDB

Although I do not observe the 7th Month, and the burning of joss paper does inconvenience my family with smoke and ash, I believe there is a need for 'common space' in terms of observance of faiths and beliefs, so I voted that we should not ban it. It is for a limited time every year after all.
seems to every few months also got to burn joss paper... not only during 7th month.
burning of joss stick.. should not have much smoke.. as it is within the house..
As for burning of those incense paper.. most families.. will have those little bins.. and with cover.. to cover after the buring so that the smoke and the ash.. does not fly around.. -
Actually I met the cleaner today and really pity her that she got to clear up the mess on the remnants of these burnings/ food on the floor with extra overtime and efforts. Not to mention, the birds and pests added to the mess. However, she has no complaint and took it easy.

Not enforced at all! I once complained to TC as I've a neighbour directly below my flat that does this twice a month but the TC guy says there's nothing he can do.I believe burning incense papers \"in\" HDB is already banned? that applies to common corridors etc.. althou not strictly enforced..
TC provide bins that are \"outside\" of HDBs.. althou in close vicinity..
It's people's religion he says, he can't do anything.
I think they should burn inside their house if that's the case and not the corridor as it is after all a common area. Just like you are not allowed to smoke in the corridor and void deck, 'cos common area. These paper give off more smoke than that from a cigarette. -
The incense paper is burnt in a bin… outside the corridor… and cover immediately once is done…
Most will put the bin near the wall which will not obstruct the walkway…
It is only twice a month and not everyday thingy… I feel that respect should be given to all religious as I believed they are considerate neighbours … to each other’s belief and religious…
In fact, even this month is the so called 7th Lunar Month… I don’t see my neighbours burning the incense papers everyday… -
We should not ban burning but fine those who burn it on the floor. I strongly believe that those burn incense paper on the floor are those living on higher level as ashes will not get into their unit...

I would propose that it should not be done on common corridors.
My reason?
My entire family was in danger of being burnt alive in our flat. My neighbour burnt incense paper frequently and often places the incense bin nearer to our window than hers. One night, the wind blew some still-burning incense paper through our windows and set our curtains alight. The burning curtains then melted our radio and our clock and charred part of our bookshelf.
That episode caused my family a lot of stress and from then on we almost always kept our window shut tightly. Soon after we moved elsewhere just to be safe from this kind of hazards. -
I have 2 neighbours, one upper floor and the other lower floor units, burn incense papers at least twice every month. My family hate the smoke but choose to keep quiet about it. We just shut all windows. As a neighbour, we have to learn to give and take. Who know they also don’t like my kids practise music instruments so often.
