      HI hi,

My son already graduated from HPPS last year. My daughter is in P5 this year.

The PSG in HPPS is quite active and many of the ECCA (enrichment CCAs) are organized and supported by parents volunteers.

P1s are pretty relaxed, so don't worry too much. Let the kids enjoy school.

Hi Lizawa, just wondering in your school if the overall percentage in the report book is calculated based on 4 or 5 (include HCL) subjects ?

It's based on 4 subjects only. HCL only has a grade, but does not count into the total aggregate. same in PSLE.

        Hi there all.....

Our little princess will also be attending HP next year. It was a tough choice between HP and Fairfield but we thought the ECAs are better at HP and dont mind the slightly longer distance to get there. The only disadvantage is that HP is still operating PM sessions for P1&2, that might be a problem, I wonder how to manage the AM so that DD doesnt spend her time in front of the TV.

Our daughter's friend is currently at HP P1 and it seems that there isnt much homework....well, we'll see. We just hope we have done enough to help DD settle down into P1 comfortably...another 4 more months. πŸ™

Hi, I am a newbie in this forum. I had my child registered for next year P1. I heard that the parent support group at HPPS is very good and I wish someone can tell me more about it. πŸ™‚

Hiya our kids would be schoolmates then πŸ™‚ Errmm sorry for asking but what is the purpose of the parent support group at HPPS for? Sounds like a group for severely stressed parents πŸ˜› Joking... Hope you can share more πŸ˜‰

hahaha... I dunno much about the parent support group as well, just heard they're good. that's why i hope someone can enlighten us πŸ˜„

Hi, lizawa, what are the 4 subjects? english, chinese. maths n science? does it mean that student who is taking HCL needs to sit for 2 tests ie normal chinese test n HCL test? thanks :?:

              Hi sesame01,

              Correct on the 4 subjects.

Yes, a student taking HCL needs to sit for 2 papers in all the tests and exams. The format for both papers are different. However, they only need to use 1 textbook, the HCL book.

HCL has no oral, so just need to do 1 oral exam.

              Hope this helps.

My son is in HPPS studying Pri 2. He enjoys himself in school and has make a lot of friends there. As for homework, i think it really depends on the teacher. However, I realised there are more boys than girls in HPPS, maybe there are just too many girls primary schools around the area.

                    Hi Gwen,

I know what you mean... My preference would be for him to go for AM session, leaving more time in the afternoons to rest and do homework... Anyway let's enjoy the experience of seeing our little ones go to pri school :celebrate:

                      Hi Zack,
Which part are you staying? We called school and got to know that HPPS assigned to some bus companies for bus services..u can call and check with them about the cost and time. Only my worried is that how to arrange for some AM course as sometimes the school will have the enrichment classes in the morning. Btw, we stay at Hillview Regency and the bus cost $85/month, any idea abt the cost?

p/s: I think PM class also not too bad as we wont have to fight every morning to wake our ds and dd up..quite tough job sometimes..:)
