List of Pri Schools Do Not Accept PV Application
-
RRMummy:
It is true. They have enough parent volunteers and alumni assisting already.Imp75:
CHIJ TP told me they dont take in PVs too, I wonder how true is it?
Hi Imp75, Did you find out from the shool or is it hearsay?
If directly from school then must be true... -
hi,
I am new here. My boy is born in year 2005. I have not started any PV so far and I am afraid I mgiht be late now:(
In fact, prior 3year to P1, I have called Rulang Pri that they said we have called too early, that is the reason we thought we still have time till now. I am staying at Taman Jurong area.
Going thru the lists above, Princess Elizabeth Primary (BB) and Jurong Primary are my choice of schools. May ask by not accepting PV mean we have no avenue to get in with priorities? or how does it work?
Any advise from parents here the good schools to consider in the Jurong areas and what shall I do now? Very lost le..
thanks in advance

If you still want to aim for Phase 2B, I'm not sure if it is too late to join RC, etc. You can ask here: http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=420hi,

Phase 2B for these 2 schs, I think no other option cos they are not affiliated to any clans or religious organisations. -

Hi hot, for Rulang, you are NOT too late for your Y2005 boy. But you have to call them soon and get their advice on the necessary procedures.hi,

Sorry, no. Only parents of the child to be registered who are old girls/boys of the schs can register in Phase 2A. -
Hi RRmummy,
thanks for the reply. Its sure encouraging:) Will call soon to check up.
Btw. When you suggest me to try P2B, do u presume that I am located within <1km? In fact, I am located slightly more than 1km and what is my chance if I apply with another address which is <1km from the school, who is not my caregiver but my brother? Will the school categorise me under P2B?
As for the Princess Elizabeth Primary (BB) and Jurong Primary, is PEP a Christian school? What is my chance again if my boy is now at Pandan Calvary kindergarten? Wonder too If I stand better chance if I apply Jurong Pri using my parentsβ address (caregiver of my boy) at Jurong East Blk 258?
Another thought is can I contribute a small token to the school? How do we know if they want to accept and how much?
Aiyo.. keksim.. going insane

Where you live is only important if the sch selects PVs based on that, and also if there is balloting for Phase 2B. To check balloting history, look for the Jurong thread for Rulang and Bt Batok thread for PEPS. The balloting history is on the first page on each thread. Look for the links.Hi RRmummy,

I have never heard of MOE allowing a child to be registered based on child's uncle's address, unless both parents have already passed on or they work and live overseas, and they made the uncle the legal guardian.
PEPS is not a Christian sch. As far as I know, both schs have no affiliations with any kindys or organisations.
If you want to use child's grandparents' address, I think you must go to MOE and make a statutory declaration with legal proof that your child is really under your parents' care. If successful, your parents' address will be \"re-classified\". Example, if your parents live within 1km of the sch, they will now be classified under the 1-2km range. This is MOE's rule, cannot change.
For PEPS, I know that, without fail so far, balloting has always been conducted for those living within 1km of the sch. Can't remember for which Phase though. Not sure for Rulang.
As for \"donations\", many schs are now walking the \"straight path\" so they will not accept.
Good luck!
P.S. Like what RRMummy said, do read up first cos I think you will find your answers already at a thread somewhere. -

hot,
both schs have no affiliations with any kindys or organisations.
to add, there is no primary school in singapore that gives priority to 'affiliated' kindergartens.
