Authetic montessori schools do not practise partial montessori, some montessori schools claim that they are montessori but they do not practise mixed age grouping and 3 hr work cycle.

my child is with a montessori cc for about a month.

i’m quite happy with the 2 teachers that are in her class but just today, a teacher from the older class came to pick my girl up at the door. i was waving to her and stood at the gate to wait for the school bus (as i have an arrangement with the driver to drive me back to my home), my girl saw me and ran towards me crying. i shoo-ed her back to her class. but when that teacher saw me, she SHOUTED at the top of her voice (rather rudely), asked me to wave goodbye and just leave because girl will cry if i stand here. i told her i’m waiting for the bus to come by and she said "then u stand there (corner of the road) and wait. is this kind of behaviour acceptable?

hi i see many montessori parents here, would like to get some advice here...


my toddler is 21mths and some ppl has been telling me that its good that toddler go to playgroup to socialize with other kids... we are in jakarta now and there is a new montessori near our place, i went to see their school today which already operated maybe a few months, they have library, music room (the teacher told me they have piano session but i didnt see any piano), playground at the top floor of the building (no grass or field) n swimming pool, i can see that they have a rather good system, but i dono if the teachers are experienced enough. and the timing is from 8am to 12pm 4hours.
some ppl told me 4hours is too long for a toddler at his age. i have been to other school near my place, the school are either old or there are too many kids squeezing in a small building... didnt have any good feeling at all...


1)my son is not talking yet n he is on potty training now. should i let him go playgroup at this time or should i wait?

2)are all the montessori school the same even they are not in the same country?? basically what does the kid do there?? cos i did went there once when there were some kids in the class, and i saw the kids were doing nothing walking around or playing the those blocks n stuff... some dont even do nothing and the teacher didnt bother at all... is that the norm??

3)can parents tell me what is the most important things to look in when we choose a school for our kid based on your experience??

im singaporean (1st time mommy) but im living in jakarta, so thanks for any advice from parents here

I so envy you. My son is in MMI Sengkang, his form teacher is lazy and cant be bothered attitute. I am so worried for my son because he is going to P1 next year. Want to switch school also too late. I can only say MMI does have a good teaching metholodology. However, it depends a lot on teachers. So, is as good worst than those less prestige and cheaper pre-school. Imagine their school fee school. Worst, I have to send him for tution to compliment his weakness. I really regretted never switch him to another pre-school. So, my advice, if teacher no good, either you complain to principal and HOPE FOR IMPROVEMENT. Otherwise, switch early. Otherwise, you will be in my situation like me!

Hi My daughter also from MMI sengkang K2 this year. Which class your son in? My daughter from K2 Mickey. I also found the teachers not so good.

There is one cartoon show on \"Word World\" with a lot of animals. I think it's quite good.


Last weekend, we went to the zoo and I asked him to spell out and memorise.

word world indeed a very good cartoon not only for the kids. My both sons + myself pick up quite a number of vocab from there I will record them every day just for the kids and I enjoy watching too

It has a childcare branch in sengkang and enrichment/kindergarten branch in Punggol.
Any feedback (good/bad) to share?

I was looking at this branch too. I called them once but was told the person-in-charge not around and asked to leave down my number which subsequence no one bother to call me back. I called second time the following day and the received the same answer.. Perhaps it's my luck.. so didn't pursue further..

My cousin send both her kids to this CC and according to her its very good.

Initally she did not send her girl (2nd child) to this childcare but she realsiedthat her girl 's school is not teaching as much as Shekinah . So she transferred her daughter to Shekinah .

I have wanted to send my daughter to Shekinah too but they dont have playgroup class
