i think the dialect group is stated on the birth cert. usually the dialect group will folllow that of the dad's.

maybe my gen have...not sure abt those in their 20s...or even 30s. think my kids donch have in it their BC.

birth cert confirm got. Becos the registration lady wrongly put DS down as Hokkien (born 2004). DH was furious (he's Hokchiu) - marched down to ICA and demanded they reissue the birth cert. hee hee hee.

yes, the dialect follow the dad's. that's why my kids won't be able to join shhk.

You can only join the Huay Kuan if you are a Hokkien which will be shown in your birth cert.

Was told that Mee Toh Pri is associated to the Singapore Buddhist Lodge. Hence, being a member of it can register under Phase 2B. Can anyone share how to be a member of the Singapore Buddhist Lodge? Thanks in advance

think the same 2 yrs applies.

BUT, before u become a member, there are certain prerequisits such as u should have been worshipping at the church for a ?no. of yrs, and be it baptism, transfer or confirmation, u still need to go thru the membership course.

Hi all parents, I will like to enquire about my chance of getting a recommendation letter from SHHK for year 2008 Child. I intend to register myself for SHHK member next week and hopefully my membership start in November as per what the admin staff told me. My P1 registration will be in year 2014, so i should have slightly more than 2 years of tenure. Chances good? I am applying for Nan Chiau. Thank you in advance!

I've ever ask my cousin who teaches at Mee Toh about this. He said they've already stop accepting SBL member registration under 2B phase. Not sure whether it's true. You might need to call the school to ask before joining SBL.
