Yes, i also bought the same set.

you’re right. The Chinese standard is much higher than Si Wu Kuai Du series.

                  hi mum2BG,

                  a)
                  康氏中文快速识读教程 - paid $60.

bought from a China lady staying around Clementi.

met her at the shopping centre, near Clementi mrt station.
paid her, she passed me the books. She briefly explained to me what those books all about. Later, i pm you her contact number.

                  b)
for Si Wu Kwai Du series - my friend in Beijing helped me buy. I asked Dangdang to send the books direct to his hotel room, in Beijing. Costs approx. $3 to $3.50 sgd per book. Total 7 books. He hand carried back to SG.

if you or your friends visiting Beijing, Shanghai or any part of China coming December long school holidays, can also ask them to help you buy.

If you don't want Dangdang to courier you, alternately you may visit those very big bookshops in China (equivalent to SG Popular bookshop type). before you fly off leave SG, use handphone take a snapshot of the book picture first. Once you reach there, show the bookshop salesmen the photo picture. They'll then guide you ... because a picture speaks a thousand words.

                      Hi,

I have not used the Ji Chu Han Zi series, so I cannot comment.

There's someone selling 四五快读 series of books now in the forum.

Here's my take, there's no one best way. If you find something that works for your child, then it's good enough. The objective is to help your child to love reading, be able to read and be an independent reader.
