Yamaha is good for auditory training, but not strong for professional exams. pianojazzy says as much in the other thread. I know because I sent my son through all the 4 years and more, and he is still quite weak in sight reading. But I guess it all boils down to the level of interest the school can create in the students. -
I agree that Yamaha is good in auditory training. So far my 5yo is improving since she started beginning of this year and she is able to play the Do-Re-Mi song from the Sound of Music on her own interpretation.

Well I registered at Tampines Mall as there will be classes started in Oct.
Abit regret as I should hv register him earlier.I feel it's good start for him at this early stage to appreciate music. It really depends on what expectation we want for child.I just want him to enjoy at first few years of music foundation and probably will start him piano class when he's ready for it.

Hi All,
I also had conducted a check where Yamaha only can entry at age 6 for piano. Cristofori is at age 5. Any recommended good piano teachers from these 2 piano schools?
If you want to be low profile then can drop me a PM. -

Hi Comma,
Can share why you choose Cristofori over Yamaha? I am on waiting list for my 2nd gal turning only 4 next May at Yamaha. I understand that the Yamaha Junior Course (YJC) is a 4 years course! Isn't it beta for the kid to appreciate music \"longer\" so that to prepare them well for the Piano class later on?
Please advise me; Thank you
