Both should be no problem as long as you understand what ur teacher is teaching & apply key words and try to have a flexible mind . Yup, good luck:D

Hi,
I am in RI right now, and I feel that if your son is GEP and has good prospects of entering the school, he should try prepare out of curriculum. It gets quite boring to teach students that same stuff, and therefore teaching them how to do Olympiad level math and science should do well enough.
There is no preparation as schools assume you know nothing and are a fresh learner. Just relax; preparation is less important than PSLE. >< -
Hi All!
Does anyone explain me how about the streaming in nsecondary school? When they enter they will be streamed or in secondary 2 will be streamed.
How will they stream?
Yesterday I go through the secondary syllabus in MOE website.
Special/express, normal(academic),normal(technical)
How they different in taking subjectswise? -
ok i undestood from wikipedia, from PSLE results they will be streamed, isn’t it?
But I didn’t understand that special kids can take higher mother tongue. Is that they should take HMT in PSLE only allow to take in secondary? -
Smart mummy, some school only has HMT. Students who enter to school in this case will also take HMT even if they do not take HMT in primary school.
-
Thanks soka. So how they stream with PSLE results?could u please explain to me.Thanks.

smartmummy,
Here's the info regarding taking HMT in secondary school from MOE:
HMTLs (HMTL)
Pupils who offer Mother Tongue Language (MTL)(i.e. Chinese/ Malay/ Tamil) or HMTL (i.e. Higher Chinese/ Higher Malay/ Higher Tamil) at the PSLE and
* are ranked among the top 10% of the PSLE; or
* are in the top 11% - 30% band who meet the language criteria (i.e. an A* grade in the MTL or at least a Merit in the HMTL)
may opt to study HMTL at secondary schools. They may offer English Language and HMTL in the GCE ‘O’ Level Examination at the end of Secondary Four.
Schools will also have the flexibility to allow pupils who do not meet the above criteria to offer HMTL, if they are assessed to have exceptional ability in MTL and are able to do HMTL without affecting their performance in other subjects.
