my DD is so stressed, she cries herself to sleep... HELp!!! how?!

      Hi smartiemommy,
Oh dear... Guess your DD, being the top 10 in her school, probably has higher expectations of herself. Do continue to encourage & support her and help her to manage her expectations. The most important thing is her well-being. If she has given it her best shot, there will be no regrets. Take care & all the best to your DD. :rahrah:

Actually for chinese. for paper 2, they will only be tested on words on the list that they are supposed to know right ?

DS depended on the PSLE θ―θ―ζ‰‹ε†Œ. It listed out all the P4 - P6 词语 learned. However, when it comes to the passage and compre, there is no such limitation / boundary.

2009 MA PSLE was hardest. 2010 MA PSLE was easiest. 2011 MA PSLE in the middle.

These are the answers for the 2011 MA PSLE Paper 2 from top students in my school [including me] (97 - 100 marks) Method used for most of the questions was ALGEBRA.

              20,17,72,70,125,20%,22,42,357*(NOT 351!!!!),5/9,180m2,154,26,13,8,5,56,119,199,17,$4576,$150

*Asking for chairs at the end check-> 357 Γ· 7(chairs in each row after rearrange) = exactly 51 rows at last
They said there was extra 12 rows so in the beginning, there were (51-12=39) rows of 9. 351 is the no. of chairs in the beginning!

              Qns. to note.

              - MA Paper 1 Q14. option (1)
              - MA Paper 1 Q30. 4.8

                kiasu-mom:
Been relatively new to this forum and enjoy reading the many posts and tips that all of you share. Many thanks.

Reading through the PSLE forum, it seems like parents like us are more stressed out about the PSLE than our kids. Inadvertently, we 'transfer' our stress and expectations over to our kids through our words and actions... I am pretty guilty of that myself.

DD had a tough time with the Math paper on Friday, was surprised as she is usually a 90+ scorer in school and the paper from what I read was not extremely hard. Talking through with her, I found out that she was so stressed that she practically 'blanked out' and could not think clearly. I feel sad for her and also guilty that I was probably the one who stressed her out.

Took her out on Sat for a break and hopefully she recovers from the setback and bounce back for Chinese, Science and Higher chinese papers rest of the week.

Stressful times indeed...looking forward to the break on Weds!
                Hi kiasu-mom,
Please don't feel guity. It is not uncommon for students to 'blanked out' under stressful examination conditions. There are still 3 more papers to go so help your DD to move on and focus on these 3 papers.

It's a great idea you brought your DD out for a break. I'm sure with your support, she'll bounce back to her usual self and excel in the other papers. All the best to your DD. Jia you!!! :rahrah:

You should not stress yourself like this......relax and do some light MT compo reading before turning in for an early night. What is past is past, there is no turning back. All the more you should do better tomorrow and for the rest of the papers.

Education is a marathon, and it will not be a \"full stop\" just because you tumbled a little along the way. Learning is a life long journey and it is important you learn to enjoy this journey, and not be too concerned by the end results alone.

All the best for your remaining PSLE papers. I'm sure you can do better if you do not stress yourself too much.

Thanks everyone! Thanks for all of your warmth encouragement! I feel better now, at first I cannot accept that he might ended up in the NT cos I feel he can do better .... I guess that is every parents feeling... feel that their child is still bright and can do better... but I feel that even if he really have to go NT... that means he should start from there... my child is not at that level yet... if I want him to do NA ... it will burden him further.... and he might fail all the way and lose his confidence or worst drop out from school... yes, I still have to encourage him all the way....

Thank you! ya! I believe he might be a black horse.... and if any of your child is like mine... we pray hard too..... I am sure they will do their best!!!
                    THANK YOU!!!
This is a national exam and I'm sure your kid understand and will do his best. Remain positive and provide him the support he needs. Good luck!

                      Hi stickyz,
Don't cry. Think you should not dwell too much on your previous papers as it might make you more nervous. It's already over. Time to move on and focus on the next few papers. Have confidence in yourself. You can do it. Jia you. :rahrah:
