              Hi FiFi,

This is purely a kindergarten, and not a childcare. It currently take in Nursery, ie 4 yrs onwards, but fm next year, would also take in N1, ie 3 yrs old kids. However, it is 3 hrs session and may not meet yr needs for child care service.

Snowyqueen - Read that your gal learns ballet at Methodist School of Music. Do they have class for 3-4 yr old n is the class good? Hope to start my gal on ballet next year..

                Thank you in advance!
                Dear Belmum,

The Ballet classes in Methodist School of music is managed by the OKH group. They have the ballet classes from pre-primary onwards to grade 4 i think. I think 5 years old should be an appropriate age to start the pre-primary class there. I do not think they have class for children of between 3-4 years old.

By the way, the starting of the term for them is in April and not January. You may wish to take note.

Alternatively, if you are staying in Bukit Timah, there is one school in Crown centre -Palais Dance Studio. There is also the Attitude in Bukit Timah Plaza but I do not like the school. I tried my gal there before.

                The choice is yours.

Anyone with children in Spring Montessori in Bukit Timah Shopping Centre? I spotted this new preschool by chance and sent my dd there this Jan. After eight months I must say that it is a good school. Although their main focus is not on academic work. i noticed dd improved a lot. Three months ago I let her take a diagnotic test at another Maths enrichment programme and was told that dd had no foundation so must start from level zero. I decided not to take the programme but now at the age of 2++ she can write all the digits 0 to 9 unassisted and combines the digits to write numbers like 58 on her own. She is now doing k2 addition and subtraction and enjoys formulating the questions on her own to test me. Her English and Chinese also improved a lot. Just sharing this because I am very grateful to the school. Too bad they don’t have childcare facilitites and I have to enrol dd to a childcare when I return to work next year. Very sad. Any advice on a equally good childcare centre around Bukit Timah?

                    Hi baby sz,

My gal in K1 this year goes to Faith Montessori along Dunearn Road. I must say that she has improved a lot since this year compared to when she went to traditional church kindergartens. I think the centre opens from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm. you can call them at 64649165 to check.

                    Hope this helps.............

Thanks, kaitlynangelica. I've just called them. The teacher who answered my call is really very nice. But....alas, I then read from your post that they are opened at 7.30am in the morning. As I will be returning to teaching in a school, this time is too late for us because I'll need to be in school before 7.20am. Do you have other places to recommend? Thanks in advance. A friend said that my best bet is to get a babysitter, do you think that is a good idea? I am a little worried about sending the children to someone I don't know......

                        Hi,

Actually am not sure of the timing. Did you ask them if they could open at 7am?
