Must wait till 2014? I cannot wait leh. Need to buy a place near my targeted school by Sep 2013 for PV application leh. Feel like just buying a small second property but that 60-40 loan thingy is too limiting.

Really unfair that HDB dwellers can buy private properties but not the other way round. Should have bought that HDB flat before Mr Mah introduced that stupid policy.

HDB upgraders setting pace in private property market

New private home sales surged 21 per cent with 1,631 homes finding buyers last month. This is more than the 1,351 units sold in August. Including executive condominium units, the number swelled to 2,064 units.

Mr Li Hiaw Ho, executive director of CBRE Research, said the high September volume was mainly supported by mass-market and upgrader-type projects, with a total of 433 executive condominium (EC) units sold in September, compared to 290 in August.

'It is likely that the latest Government move to raise the household income ceiling for EC buyers from $10,000 to $12,000 per month has given a boost to the sales momentum,' he added.

Arc At Tampines, the first EC project launched after the announcement, registered 233 units sold at a median price of $734 per sq ft (psf). RiverParc Residence in Punggol sold another 90 units ($685 psf) in addition to the 393 already sold, while Blossom Residences in Bukit Panjang sold 52 units at $706 psf on top of the 361 units sold earlier.

It’s true alot of people I know is selling now and renting till prices drop. When I m old, I will buy a HDB to stay. As of now, I find my Hse too big for my family. I have 5 bedrooms, 5 toilets, 1 roof terrace, 1 dry kitchen, 1 wet kitchen and only 3 of us in the Hse. When my husband is overseas, worst! I will be alone.

when your husband is overseas he brings the kid along ?

if i were you, i would rent out the house and rent a condo to stay, the rental difference would be extra income to pay for living expenses

I wish I was Kaypoh and can talk more. I have been posting like mad for the past few days to chalk up my points. Alas, still a black belt.

I was just trying to test out how to be like other member whose point can sky rocket within a short span of time. Normally I am not so talkative.
