Dear parents,

Would appreciate if any of the parents can help me with a few queries. My son is doing PSLE this yr. His T-score is likely to be in the 230+ range. Our MT is Tamil but my son is exempted due to medical reasons. I was wondering if this would enable him to apply to Maris Stella - or it would only be for those who offer CL. I also wanted to know - if he were to apply - for subjects other than CL - would there be a tendency for teachers to use Chinese - sorry - do not mean to sound dumb or offensive, I know in Singapore we promote bilingualism - just a query, considering it is a SAP school - if there is a tendency for the teachers also to be highly geared towards Mandarin - sometimes using our MT is easier. I am just worried if he would miss out on some things in lessons, that's all - otherwise, I would very much welcome him learning about the Chinese culture that a SAP school atmosphere promotes.

I am very interested in this school because of the Mac Book based learning programme. How do you find it benefitting your child? My son is very keen to learn computer programming and explore IT based courses? Would this Macbook program help him develop that aspect in Maris Stella.

Hi, since its a SAP school the only MT is Chinese. If your son were to take Tamil he would have to take lessons outside of school.

In response to your query on the other thread we do use the MacBooks in class like for research and all, the school is planning on conducting computer studies from 2012. I'm not sure about the MT maybe you could call the general office and give them a call?

Can't remember the exact amount cos we go by GIRO. I think is either around $13.50 or $23.50 per month....

My son was assigned to MSHS in 2010 but I pulled him out to TKSS. He is now on LOA, studying in Copenhagen and will rejoin in the 2013 academic year
