      Dino mummy:
an update...after my boy started his Pri 3 class at LC Bukit Timah for less than 1 mth, his one and only classmate quitted last Saturday. That means he is the only kid in the class. Altho' it seems like value for money cos it looks like a 1-1 tutor but I know my boy will be bored. He likes interaction and he only has the teacher to interact now...

Wonder why that classmate quitted, was it cos the teacher or ???? Wonder wht I made the right choice to enrol him there.
      Hi \"Dino mummy\",

Just to share with you. My boy at Bedok is also facing the same issue. Beginning I felt that I \"earned\" it but after 2 week, my boy complaining bored. Thus I \"sacrifice\" my time and got him to other timing with his friend. He is much happier now and enjoyed. Do share your thoughts with me if you need a listening ear. I'm all here to \"support\". Good luck! 😉

I think it really depends on the child.

I experience the 1-1 situation when I put my ds in Han language compo and compre class. He switched from home tuition. So initially he was "bored" as he felt all attention was on him… Then he got used to it and then now there are 4 in his class.

Just monitor and see how it goes. I feel that everyone’s experience is different due to difference in learning style, etc…

Sigh…after much headaches in sourcing for a center/school, decided to put in with LC, and now he is stuck with a 1-1 tuition.

Well, the next avail timeslot is on Sunday but it clashes with his chinese compo class so no way of moving him to another day. Think he has nothing to interact with the teacher…his teacher looks so stern. Have to adopt a wait and see approach…but i am really curious to know why that classmate left…

How’s the quality of LC teachers? Are they ex-teachers?

May be his classmate stopped lessons as it is year end and exams are over this week. If family goes on holidays, it is money down the drain.

My hubby also not very keen as he is afraid that Ang Moh teachers may not know the local system / moe requirements.

                Hi Yeo88
We started with ang moh teacher when my boy was in Pri 1. Then we felt he played more than learnt in the enrichmt center. so, this yr, we put him with a center taught by Locals. More structure but in the end, he only did text papers, assessments during the 1.5hr. The teacher din really explain the mistakes he made. So, we stopped the local one and switched to LC, hopefully, to brush up his foundation.
It is so draining to select tuition centers / enrichment centers. It is easier to choose a Pri School....

Thanks. Agree with you, it is very difficult to get good tuition centers and tutors. And it is hard to see progress for language class. My daughter is currently attending Wordplus at beauty world. I am not sure whether we will continue next year. Ratio is a bit high and I can’t really tell whether she is progressing. But classes seem to be well structured. I was also thinking of Morris Allen but location is not convenient.

Thot of Morris Allen too cos heard not that good too...\"Teach less and Learn more\" is a crap. I think it should be \"Teach less and Pay more for private tuition or Teach ur own\"
